Hey guys, here is chapter ten in the Leo Fanfic. I hope you guys like it. Feedback would be nice and appreciated. The next chapter will be in Carry the Flame it will be posted Tuesday. Just thought I would let you guys know. Also sorry for typos, and ignore the bad grammar. Kayti's laptop where we edit this has been acting up today and this is the second time she has gotten it ready to post, so yeah... we didn't run it through Grammarly...so sorry about that.
May God Bless all of y’all,
Rissy
Leo stuffed everything he had into an old potato sack. When he was done, he slung the sack over his shoulder and walked to the window. He made sure no one was about. It appeared that everyone was asleep so he slowly opened the window. Then he dropped the sack out the window, then swung his feet over the seal, and jumped out. He landed hard on the cold snowy ground.
He rolled in the snow a few times before finding his feet. He then dusted the snow off and picked up his sack. He then slung the sack over his shoulder and ran off into the words. The moon shone bright and cast shadows on the snowy ground. The moonbeams made the snow sparkle and look magical, like something out of a fairytale. Big bright beautiful stars lit up the night sky. It almost seemed as if the stars were dancing. It was a beautiful cold night.
Leo ran into the night, a harsh wind blowing through his fur and clothes. A shiver went up his back. He was escaping, finally. He had to keep going, to get away from this awful place. No more being told what to do. No more being whipped and hit. No more being yelled or cursed, he was a free buck. And it felt good to be free!
But he wasn’t quite free yet, so he must keep running. His heart pounded in his chest, pounding so hard it felt like someone was hitting him. His legs ached, as did his lungs, but he pushed on. His ears were cold, but his feet were so cold. He had to get to the bridge, where he would meet up with Marcellos. He smiled when he saw the bridge just ahead.
He forced himself to run faster. His legs growing weaker by the moment. He was so close. He couldn’t wait when he was almost there he looked up and saw Marcellos and…
He couldn’t believe it, he smiled. Tara along with another doe. But he knew this doe, it was Julia. He shook his head and looked back at Tara she looked so beautiful. The moonlight reflected on her long shiny black fur which made it look glossy She looked at him her beautiful eyes gazing into his. She smiled, a big, beautiful smile, like the stars in the sky. But then he saw a sad look come to her eyes. He was about to say something when Marcellos spoke.
“We need to get out of here before Percy finds out I’m gone. We’ll have to walk through the night if the does are up to it?”
Leo looked at Tara and Julia, then Julia spoke. “I think we can do it. We will be fine, I think.” Julia then looked over at Leo and smiled. Leo smiled back, but for some reason, he didn’t like her. There was just something about her, something that felt off.
He then heard Marcellos say, “Good. Let’s go!” With that, all the rabbits started walking and following Marcellos into the unknown. Thus, their journey began. They walked all night long, growing tired and weak. Finally, Tara collapsed to the ground tears coursing down her face. Leo ran over to her and fell to his knees beside her.
“Are you okay?” He asked, putting his arm around her shoulders.
“I can’t go on. I’m tired and cold,” she said, shivering and sniffling, as she wiped tears from her face.
“It’s okay, I have you,” Leo said as he picked Tara up and carried her in his arms. Deep down inside Leo knew that being cold and tired wasn’t the only thing bothering Tara. There was something else, something that he didn’t know about.
They walked for a long time before they finally stopped at a cave. Marcellos started a fire and Leo laid Tara down in front of it. He then sat down beside her and looked into those eyes of hers.
“There’s something bothering you, what is it? That is if you want to tell me,” Leo said, leaning his head against her’s.
It was quiet for a moment, but then Tara spoke. “Leo the reason I have not seen you for a few days is that…” Tears fell down Tara’s face as she tried to go on. She choked on her words and her voice cracked as she said, “My father is dead.”
Leo’s heart froze as Tara fell into his arms sobbing.
Oh, poor Tara! It is funny having a Percy in this fanfic and in Meadow's. And I do not really trust Marcellos or Julia... But I will wait and see. 😄
😥😥😥😥😥 good gravy... this, I-I just... i dont know!!! *starts sobbing* poor Tara!! And Leo! And Julia... Marcellos I still dont quite trust you... IM WATCHING YOU! 😠😠 Awesome job Rissy!
WAit... what? Why must this happen!!!!!! 😞😫 😢😭😭😭 I love Tara!!!! Amazing job; your descriptions especially are so wonderful!!! For feedback, one thought I had was, watch out for repetitiveness or stating things too obviously, like here: "...walked to the window. He made sure no one was about. It appeared that everyone was asleep so he..." I think you can delete the middle sentence, or maybe rephrase the sentences, because the third one already suggests that's what he did - making sure no one was there.
That's all!!! I am SO excited for the next chapter, in Carry the Flame!!!
Great job! I love Tara so so so much!!
