Lil' Jo having fun with "me nuncle Jwo!"

This is Jo after he makes that crazy awesome shot to save Heather. In my sketch book I have in the corner, "No disapproving voices haunted his vision, nor were angry faces shaking their heads at his shame. Jo believed he was dying, but a weary smile played across his face."-The Last Archer pg. 120

This is "Jo Cool". Did I mention that Jo is my favorite character?
And finally, something that has nothing to do with Jo (sorry Jo!) My rendition of Heather and Smalls!

It was the following day when both Garten and Vitton returned to the cell. They emerged from the corridor leading to the cell side by side. At the other end, Emma saw several guards, no doubt escorts for the two bucks. She wasn’t sure whether to be relieved or worried that they were being kept at a distance.
“And how are our favorite prisoners?” Garten’s tone was mocking, and it brought a smirk to Vitton’s face.
“None the better for your asking,” Emma answered coolly.
“Careful, little doe,” Vitton replied, his eyes glinting. “It could always be worse.”
Jo, who had been resting in his nest of blankets, raised himself up to regard the two older bucks. His face wore an expression Emma couldn’t quite read. The fear that had come when Vitton last visited wasn’t visible, nor did Jo seem to demonstrate any contempt. Focused was the best term…

So developments in The Lost Legend got me to thinking about the various antagonists who have appeared and been defeated in the series by named hero characters. Thought it might be fun to go through and break the topic down. As a note, there will be SPOILERS for Helmer in the Dragon Tomb, both book and game.
A good number of named or significant antagonists are the only ones to have been defeated, and often slain, by a particular hero. Flint’s said to have defeated Firstfoe, but we don’t know much more than that. Mother Saramack may or may not have taken out the unsavory commander Usher. King Whitson is known to have slain a Grimble tribe captain named Forne. Lander, of course, was responsible for killing Namoz the Destroyer. And Emerson was responsible for taking out Falcowit, though with a bit of assistance.
Speaking of which, Kylen and Naylen…
Ya Helmer totally wins this, and to add on that he's gonna have more books to himself to kill more baddies!
This does get me thinking about the other side, villian defeats of heros.

Okay, I wanna share some trivia with you guys! In a couple weeks I'm hosting a Green Ember trivia at my house with some friends. One type of question is Who said it? questions. The trivia I prepared for my friends is more easy and it's only required to have read the four main books though I do have a couple bonus questions for the side books. Anyway, I want to give you some of the harder ones I've come up with. Basically, Who said it? questions are quotes (or random nonsense) and you have to tell me "Who said it?". Here we go.
1. "You can't take two steps, without running into one."
2. "That's the lazy, unimaginative solution."
3. "Like I always say, I'm behind you all the way. Sadly, I'll be so far behind that it won't help any, but I'm definitely behind you."
4. "But I…
Okay, here are the answers!
1. Cole
2. Helmer
3. Lund
4. Galt
5. Jo
6. Weezie
7. Jo (one of my favorites)
8. Perkinson
9. Whitson (another of my favorites)
10. Aunt Jone
Great job @Kilmarnock228! 9/10! -you didn't have to say what book the quote was in but you did get those all right!
I'm probably gonna post more trivia some time soon! 😉

So it says that Jupiter is King Walter Good's third son, and Bleston is his first son, but it doesn't say ANYTHING about his second son! It hints that there was a second son, because there is that gap between Bleston and Jupiter, but then the books act as if he never existed!
My greatest theory about this is that he died pretty young and so did nothing noteworthy, unlike his brothers and father.
I think this is interesting, so tell me your thoughts on this.
I’d say the identification of Jupiter as the third son makes it clear that there was a second son. But as you say, we know literally nothing else about him. Except for that one reference, he is entirely absent from all the Green Ember wirks we have so far. That is, unless he has been a particularly forceful personality of the story and simply hasn’t been revealed to be Jupiter’s brother to us as yet.
As you say, it is quite possible that he died young, possibly before the whole succession dispute between his brothers came up. There’s certainly no indication that he was ever a contender for being named Walter’s heir. Helmer in the Dragon Tomb makes no mention of him either, with King Walter’s decline and Jupiter’s absence leaving those who address the subject fearful that Bleston would return from self-imposed exile and claim the throne without anyone to oppose him. It seems probable therefore that if Jupiter’s brother was alive, he wasn’t a forceful enough personality to oppose either those who opposed his father or a returning Bleston.
There are a few other possibilities that strikes me:
The second son may have sided with Bleston against their father and Jupiter and gone with Bleston when he left First Warren.
Jupiter’s brother may have had some fault or faults that, while not as great as Bleston’s, still made him unfit for rule. Perhaps he was a privileged brat who couldn’t be bothered with affairs of state so long or concern for his people so long as his own needs were being met.
The second son may have been somewhat like his distant uncle Lemual or future niece Emma, neither of whom wanted the responsibility of being the heir. But he never reached the crisis point that they did, and so wasn’t forced into the position of leadership.
A favorite theory of mine is that he may have been taken captive, and thus ended up as an anonymous slave under the Lords of Prey and been assumed dead. He may, however, have used this anonymity to assist the resistance to the Preylords in whatever location he happened to find himself in. Of course, this may be based on my interest in another fairly mysterious character in the Green Ember series: our friend the Commandant of Akolan.

Don't read this if you haven't read The Lost Legend yet
So I noticed in Ember Falls, Uncle Wilfred is talking about betrayers and he says quote "From Smalls' brothers to my brother, from Challabat to Kyle," I went crazy!

The forum has been dead for over a week so I propose a challenge.
I have made a couple of flags of the GE Citadels so my challenge is for you to choose up to 3 citadels and make your own versions their respective flags.
You'll have 5 days to make the flags.
The only rule is to use the official description of the flags as a reference. The rest is up to you.
The judge will be myself and the prize will be revealed at the end deadline.
Ladies and Gentlemen!
After days of pure laziness and indecision, the winner of the Flaf Chalenge is (drum roll...)
Loved your creativity when making the Chelmsford and Vandalia flags!
@Shuffler :) you did very well too
Nice
