The sound of Tara’s laughter filled Leo’s ears with happiness. It had been a long time since Tara had actually laughed. Leo loved every minute of it, he didn’t want it to stop and he wanted to see her this way forever. He liked seeing the happy side of Tara, instead of the sad side that he had seen for so long, all because of the one rabbit who had destroyed her. Percy had stolen all of Tara’s happiness, including her father. But what Leo didn’t understand was why would you do something like that to someone as precious and beautiful as Tara?

Leo knew that he would never understand that question and it wasn’t important anymore because Percy couldn’t harm anyone, Leo would make sure of that. He turned his head towards Tara who was still laughing joyfully. Her laughter floated through the air making every rabbit around smile. Tara had a gift for doing that and so did Aleigha, they were so much alike, that was one of the reasons why Leo loved Tara, but it wasn’t all the reasons. There were so many more that he didn’t know where to start.

Leo reached for Tara’s hand and held it tight. Tara turned her head toward him and he stared into her glowing amber eyes with a smile. Tara smiled back.

“Leo,” Tara said, with a beautiful voice.

“Yes,” he said back.

“I don’t know if I ever told you, but I love you! And thank you for being there for me when I needed you the most.”

Leo pressed her head against his as he whispered, so only she could hear, “I would do anything for you, even if that meant dying, I would still do it, you mean the world to me! I love you, Tara, with all my heart! I wish that I could give you more, but I am as poor as can be so instead if you’re willing, my lady, I will give you my whole heart or more!” Leo then gently kissed her forehead.

“I think I’m the one that needs to give you more, you have done everything for me. You have saved my life so many times and where was I when you needed me? I was never there, Leo, I felt like I was useless and I apologized but at the same time, I want to do more for you! But I don’t know how to do it.”

Leo put a finger to Tara’s lips as he hugged her. “The only thing that you need to do is love me! That is the only thing I ask of you.”

“Oh Leo, I would do more than love you,” Tara said.

Leo put an arm around her and gave her a gentle squeeze as he looked over to where Aleigha was with the prince. She looked so happy standing beside the prince, a big grin on her face. Leo was proud of his sister who might one day be his queen.

Leo then offered Tara a dance and she accepted, he then led her towards the dance floor. Leo and Tara danced beside Julia and Marcellos, and later Aleigha and Adrian got to dance. Aleigha’s blithe laughter filled the whole room like magic.

Aleigha smiled at Adrian before saying, “I would love to dance with you, my prince.” Then she curtsied, bowing her head as she let her deep emotions take over. Tears rolled down her beautiful face like a wave of water coming to carry her away, but all this wasn’t because she was sad, but because of something else. It was something that hit her heart like a bolt of lightning. No one had ever asked her to dance, not once in her life, until now. And now it was Adrian who asked her, her future king. Aleigha never saw it coming, then again, she didn’t see a lot of things, like her falling in love with Adrian.

She never meant for this to happen, but it did and here she was now with Adrian. She slowly looked up to see his hand out in front of her, she also saw tears form in his eyes as he looked down with a smile.

Aleigha took Adrian’s hand and she slowly rose to her feet. As soon as she was up Aleigha threw her arms around Adrian's neck, sobbing onto his shoulder. She felt Adrian’s arms wrap around her and squeeze her tight. She let more tears free, then said choking on her words, “I love you, my prince and my love!”

She then broke away from the hug and gazed into his eyes to see a look of love in the noble eyes of a king. He gave her a bright smile, which caused a shiver to run up her spine. Then he held out his hand as he said, “May I?”

She smiled at him as she said, “You may.”

She then placed her hand in his and nothing had ever felt so right. Adrian led her to the dance floor and that’s when her love for Adrian burst full upon her. It flowed freely through her veins and filled her heart to overflowing, like a great flood freeing itself from a dam.

Aleigha leaned her head on Adrian’s shoulder as they began to dance to the rhythm of the music. Aleigha was happier than she had ever been in her life. Finally, she knew who she truly was and why she existed in this world that before seemed only to hurt her, but now it brought happiness and hope. The hope of her one day being Adrian’s wife.
