Hey guys! Here's chapter 4 Hope you like it! And i can't think of anything else to say today soooooo.........here you go!
Duncan ran as fast as he could ignoring everything around him. From the howling wind which blew, to the squishy ground beneath his feet. His mind was on one thing and that was Sandy. He couldn’t let anything happen to him. He deeply felt his responsibility for Sandy at all times and it wasn’t only that, it was that Sandy was all he had left. They didn’t have parents; it was just them and Duncan was fine with keeping it that way.
He took a deep breath as he ran faster. He yelled Sandy’s name, but he didn’t hear any answer. Where could he be? Why would he run this way? He thought to himself as he frantically searched for any sign of his brother. He heard a loud noise along with a scream. It was Sandy. His heart started racing as he ran towards the noise. His green eyes went wide as he saw Sandy fall into the raging river. In a moment he was whisked away out of sight.
“No, no, no!” He yelled as tears streamed down his face. What could he do? He looked around for anything that might help, but there was nothing. He looked up into the rain filled sky. “Please, I need him. He is all I have left.” A loud boom of thunder roared overhead, as the rain started to slow down. He fell to his knees and sobbed. Sandy was gone.
Two days later:
A young doe walked along beside the river. With her were her two little brothers. She was caramel in color with violet eyes, tall, lean, and wore a light brown dress with little white flowers that went up the dress. She wore a bow on one ear and carried a basket of berries. She looked over at her brothers, who were supposed to be picking berries. She smiled at them as she said, “Donnae eat too many or ye’ll* get a tummy ache.”
“Ye suck the fun out of everything, Jenny,” her brothers said.
She put her hands on her hips, and flashed her violet eyes as she said, “I donnae.”
She expected her brothers to protest, but they said nothing back. Instead they appeared to be looking at something on the riverbank behind her. “What are yens* gawking* at?” she asked.
They both pointed at something behind her, their eyes wide. Maybe it was a wolf, a bird of prey? She turned her head and her eyes went wide at what she saw.
