Looking at misty and looking around he said “well, here’s your home for now misty, not as luxurious as a palace, but cozy.” Situating the cradle and setting some blankets he laid her down, and started rocking her to make her fall asleep. Once she was, he got his bed ready. The frame was old and not stable, so he took off the legs of the frame and set it on the ground. Getting some extra pillows from a box in the shed, he set them on the ‘bed’ and just was about to go to bed when he heard a knock on the door. Curiously he said “come in,” and Martha came in with a bowl of vegetable soup, and with an explanation for why his father doesn’t appreciate him. “Before you were born, we were wanting a doe, but when you came, your father now feels like you are a disappointment to him. Which is why he is ashamed, if you will, that you brought the doe, which comes to my question: how did you find her, and why did you think of bringing her home?” “She was laying on the beach and I couldn’t see anyone close enough to see and care about her.
