I held my breath, waiting for Pacer to respond.
"Make a sudden move, little one, and you shall have your wish." Pacer said. He tightened his grip on his bow.
"Have anything savory or dennish?" Another rabbit asked. Wilfred. Wilfred, the rabbit who had saved my life so many times.
"Is that Wilfred?" Pacer called as the wind blew away the mist to reveal four travelers.
"It is, Is that Pacer?" Wilfred asked, squinting.
"The same." Pacer bowed.
"It's been a long time." Pacer said. I started to worry. Pacer hated the Longtreaders.
"We've come far and we're very hungry. We need to get inside."
"No one enters unless Lord Rake gives them permission." Pacer said, nodding to me. I saluted than sprinted inside. I ran through the familiar halls of Cloud Mountain. My left eye was swollen. I turned a bend and crashed into Lord Rake.
"Your needed." I said, gasping. Rake chuckled and nodded.
"And you get to Doctor Zieger now!" Rake said. I sighed.
"I'll live." I moaned.
"Helmer." Rake laughed. I frowned, but turned towards the hospital.
I meandered through the halls, carefully trying to open my eye. No luck. I entered the hospital, frowning at the numerous members of the Forest Guard. The bucks in my division saluted. So many rabbits. The wolf attacks were getting worse. guards dropping like flies. Doctor Zieger came over. I had read in Helmer's journal that the older buck believed Zieger was an apothecary.
"Mine friend Fleck more once!" Doctor Zieger said. I grinned. Did he know who had left the extra blankets at the door several nights ago?
