You know, I used some of ya'll for inspiration ;) And I'm very happy with the results. Rhys, and the Fowlers friendship inspired me, and I couldn't help myself lol
I actually love this so much, it will be the beginning of a good story plot in my opinion
“Stop moving.” Kat commanded, glaring as Rhys shuffled impatiently. “My head’s fine.” he argued playfully, causing a whack on arm from Kat who was wrapping his head tightly with strips of cloth. “We need you in good shape, enough that you can carry Vell. I know where to go, so I’ll be leading the way. And Amy, I don’t know about her.” Kat stole a glance at the doe, still curled up in a ball. “I think she still feels bad.” Kat whispered in Rhys’s ear, causing him to flinch. It hurt. “Sorry,” She said, straightening up. “You’re done.” Kat announced, pulling him to his feet and dragging him over to Vell, who was now propped against a broken down tree. He still wasn’t moving, and his breathing was shallow, barely heard over the sound of Amy now getting to her feet noisily. “I’m ready,” she whispered, her voice raspy and eyes swollen. Rhys felt bad for her, when the explosion had occurred Vell had covered her head, and when they had been blasted back he had slammed into a pile of rocks, with no protection for himself. She blamed it on herself, even though she had done nothing wrong. Rhys glanced at his friend, Kat, as she heaved the unconscious Vell to his feet and Rhys grabbed his friend away from her. He adjusted Vell so he wouldn’t fall and with a sigh started walking. Kat cleared her throat noisily and Rhys turned to see her, heading in the other direction. He chuckled sarcastically to himself before following her and Amy. He caught up to Kat who was tromping over large roots that had been up-lifted in the after shock of the explosion. “I’m sorry.” Rhys said, looking down. “For what?” Kat asked, not turning to look at him, though he caught a glimpse of her confused expression. “For all of this!” Rhys exclaimed, “Don’t you see? Everyone’s dead.” The words hit hard, and they stopped walking, Amy ran into Kat and backed away, embarrassed. “Everyones dead.” Rhys whispered, thinking of his brother and other friends. Thinking of his bodyguards. “It will be okay.” Amy said, speaking again in a raspy voice. Kat looked at her, shocked. “Your right Amy, everything will work out. We just have to be, I don’t know, optimistic?”
“Yah... “ Rhys said, his voice still lowered in sorrow. “I’m not good at that.” Kat laughed slightly, starting to trot along again. They walked in silence for a while, none of them brave enough to speak. Rhys began feeling uncomfortable with Amy behind him, he wasn’t sure why but he hated the way she could be watching his every move from behind and he wouldn’t know. He paused and let her pass him, so he remained in the back. He let out a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding, he didn’t trust that Amy, but he didn’t know why. “Where are we going?” Rhys asked, “Are we almost there?” Kat nodded from in front of him. “It's not far actually, I didn’t think that we would want to go to a better place, this one’s just small. We’ll most likely be given tents to sleep in, they don’t have extra houses.” Rhys grunted in response, despite Vell’s insanely light body he was growing tired, and weary. They walked on for a couple more minutes before Kat released a loud sigh. She smiled slightly as she pushed away some branches, revealing a couple small buildings. Rhys’s heart started pounding in his chest, it felt like it would burst any second. He refused to look at Vell, it all seemed too real now. He felt like a zombie, unable to see anything clearly anymore, following Kat cautiously. Amy let out a whimper, which he ignored. She could get over her fright right now, Vell was dying in his arms. A scream echoed from inside one of the houses and two does scrambled out, one tripping over her own feet as she stumbled down the wooden stairs. They both had grey fur, obviously sisters. They also both had light brown eyes, they resembled raw honey, shimmering in the light. Their eyes were wide in urgency. “What happened?!” One of the does yelled, rushing to Rhys, who backed away, protective of Vell. “Please let me take him.” The shorter of the does begged, frowning desperately. “I don’t even know your name.” He argued, and Kat shook her head. “This is Maybelle and Jade. They’re sisters, and they’re nurses. They helped my family before I was taken.” Rhys held his breath as he hesitantly gave Vell to the shorter of the does. She heaved him over her arm easily and rushed to follow her sister, who was bolting away at an extreme speed, that seemed almost impossible. “Do you trust them?” Rhys asked nervously, his brow furrowed in frustration. “With my life.” Kat said, her voice no more than a mumble. “ They are like sisters to me, they saved me once, and I owe them everything.”
“They give me “crazy” vibes.” Rhys said, and Kat laughed slightly. “They are super sweet, I think you guys will be good friends.”
Rhys nodded, he wasn’t sure how to respond to having friends outside of Vell, Kat, and Amy. AMY! He turned, and after seeing her, standing awkwardly in the corner he smiled. If Kat trusted Jade and Maybelle then he did too.” He started forward, he was going in. He was going to see if Vell would make it.
