so here's chapter 5, sorry i didn't get around to writing this last night, and also, please don't be mad at me for this chapter!!!
Fleck stood and hobbled a few paces before realizing it would be impossible to run with an injured foot. Even if he started now, he would never make it to the Great Wood on time. First Warren was miles away. Fleck had to find his satchel.
Darkness was lifting and light streamed into Rockback Valley as Fleck limped in the direction he had came from. Soon, the smoke and fog had cleared. Fleck guessed by the position of the sun it was about one o'clock.
He scanned the rocky ground for his satchel. He soon noticed it snagged on a rock. Fleck sprinted the last few steps, though his mind told him to walk.
Fleck rummaged through his bag and sighed with relief. The message was safe. As he grabbed his satchel and turned to lkeave, he found himself surrounded by slobbering wolves. It was a trap.
"We want to look through your bag, dinner." Thge oldest wolf snarled. Fleck was surprised to see that the enemy hadn't looked through his satchel.
"No. I won't let you." Fleck cried, drawing his sword. "I'm tired of failing!" Fleck swung his blade. instantly, he cut the leader down and chased the others away. Fleck burst into a run, sheathing his sword.
Fleck wasn't paying attention to the ground in front of him. He tripped over a stone. Harsh rocks cut through his trousers and scratched his knees, but Fleck got up and kept running.
Hearing the crack of a stick, Fleck ran faster. He tripped on a rock and slid forward on the slick mud. His head hit a large rock.
Fleck was knocked out cold.
[please, please don't be mad at me for this!]
No! I would never hate you! I mean, it would be weird if Fleck died, since he's the main character, but that is my opinion. I would never hate you for it!!!
