The does ran hard ahead. The new white buck sprinted to catch up to them, followed by Wilfred. As Stretch started bolting, the lanterns shook from the walls, spraying glass and fire. The bucks raced togethor, struggling to make it out. Stretch tripped on a rock and fell hard, not moving on the stone floor.

"Go." Fleck yelled. Wilfred looked over his shoulder as Fleck bent by his friend. The white buck grabbed his hand and yanked him away.

rock shook and rumbled, racing toward him. Without thinking, Fleck braced for the landslide, doing his best to sheild Stretch.

When the wave of rock came, it was impossible for Fleck to keep his balance. He toppled over, frantically trying to ford the river of rock.

five minutes later

The rock had left tight walls around the bucks. Fleck realized there was little to no chance of escape. He quickly checked for injury. He couldn't move his left leg, nor his right arm. His left wrist was stiff. He knew he had several cuts from the falling rock.

Fleck crawled over to Stretch. He seemed uninjured. Fleck realized that he had taken most of the blows. Fleck crawled to one of the hard-packed walls. He felt around the cracks. no escape.

Wilfred looked through the dense crowd of rabbits.

"Fleck?" He cried. nothing.

"Stretch?" He asked. nothing.

"They must be inside." The white buck, who said his name was Luke.

"No!" Wilfred cried, walking toward the mine.

"Don't go in their." Garten sneered.

"Huh?" Wilfred asked, bringing his fist around. Wilfred struck down his brother.

"I'm in charge here." Garten sneered.

"Rope?" Wilfred asked. Luke handed wilfred rope. He snatched Garten's whistle, tying ropes around his brother's wrists. Garten kicked at Wilfred, but he bound Garten's feet to. Wilfred dropped a bag on Garten's head. Wilfred tied Garten inside a wooden crate, locked it, and snapped the key in two.

"C'mon bucks!" Wilfred shouted. the rabbits, even Hanna, grabbed pickaxes and raced into the tunnels.
