Sorry its been a while since I posted a chapter, we just got AC on Saturday, so you know...now here is chapter 3!!!
Alan stuffed whatever he thought he might need into an old seed bag. This was the day tonight he would leave First Warren he just hoped that his father didn’t notice anything different, what if he did? What if he found out that he was running away? What would he do? Would he lock him in his room? Beat him? He hoped with all his heart that his father wouldn’t find out.
Alan put the small bag of stuff under his bed, his father couldn’t find it here, because his father never came in here. He just hoped his father didn’t find out, somehow…
Alan heard the door open downstairs; he quickly ran down the stairs just as his father came in. He took a deep breath, just be natural he told himself. His father looked at him then brushed past him and sat down at the table.
Alan walked into the kitchen and brought out two small bowls of steaming soup and set one down in front of his father, then sat down and started to eat. It was quiet, then his father spoke, “Did you do your chores?”
Alan nodded, “Yes sir, I did.”
His father nodded, “Were you with that freak today?”
“No sir, I wasn’t.” His father looked at him, studying him. Alan swallowed hard then his father spoke again. “You lie freak, you were with him. Do you know how I know that?”
Alan shook his head, “No sir.”
“Would you like me to tell you,” his father said, his voice high, but before Alan could answer his father went on. “I know because I saw you with him!” Alan looked down and bite his lip. “I told you not to talk with that freak! And you disobeyed me!” His father said his eyes flashing dangerously.
Alan stood up. “Father I…I…I’m sorry, but David is my friend, and he needs me.”
His father stood and said his voice loud and booming. “Needs you! That little freak don’t need you and you don’t need him!”
Alan couldn’t help but yell, “WELL, I need someone who cares!”
“You don’t need him, you’re just a little no good for nothing, two faced freak! That’s what you are a freak! And that’s what you’re always going to be!”
Tears ran down Alan’s face as he thought about it. Sure, he might look different like he had two faces, but it still hurt. He had been born like that, born a freak. With one green eye with a normal black pupil, and one blue eye with a red pupil. His whole life he had put up with his father calling him freak, but he couldn’t stand it anymore. “I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!” He yelled as he went to run up the stairs, but his father grabbed his arm.
Alan tried to get free from his father’s grip, but he couldn’t. His father held his arm so tight, digging his fingernails into Alan’s arm so hard that it bled, so hard that a scream escaped his mouth.
Then his father let go. Alan fell to his knees clutching his arm. He just looked at his father and then his father spoke, “Don’t you ever talk to me like that again, or there will be far more consequences than that.” Alan didn’t say anything. “Do you hear me?”
Alan nodded, “Yes sir.” He mumbled.
“Go to your room!” His father barked.
Alan got up slowly. “Now!” He ran up the stairs and slammed the door behind him. He then locked it and grabbed the small bag from under his bed. He waited for a little while, then he heard his father’s door slam shut. He went over to the window, then climbed out. He took one last look at the house and mumbled, “I’m sorry father.” Then he ran off before he could change his mind.
Hoped you guys liked it! Sorry it was a
I want to cry! So well written and so sad!
Oohh!!! Our poor Alan!!! He is pretty good for a buck who's been abused his whole life!!!
Alan... my poor boy... I’m legit going to cry, not only for Alan bug because your wording is amazing. this story reminds me about what I wanted to be when I get a job. I want to do the same job my aunt does, taking children out of homes like this. I feel like I need to help and this story is bringing the reality of the world to life. Y’all, when we pray we should make sure to keep children in these situations in our prayers because you can see in this story how absolutely revolting it is. I feel sick seeing Alan’s dads actions. Amazing job! Keep writing and can’t wait for next chapter.
It's so good!!! I love Alan!
