Confusion swelled in Alice’s mind as she thought about how Digory and Aaron would die. It caused a large ache to form in her heart and fresh tears began to fall from her face. She began to wonder if this was all her fault? She let the memories flashback come and saw how much of a j-erk she had been to Aaron and Digory. She also saw that this was her fault and it started with the house fire and her not listening to Aaron. Instead, she just fought. When they were being chased if she wouldn’t have tripped, they would have never gotten caught.
Alice fought back more tears that wanted to come like a great wave. Her heart ached; she should be the one to die. They were good rabbits, while she was a traitor.
She looked at Lancely and said, one more time with hope in her voice, “Please, don’t kill them. I am the one to kill not them.”
Lancely turned and to look at her face. Alice felt the grip on her arm tighten as he yelled, “I have had enough of you! You useless, weak doe!” He then looked toward the greyish white doe and said, through clenched teeth, “She’s your problem now Eileen. I’ve had enough of her.”
Lancely swung Alice toward the doe, she let out a scream as she almost hit the ground, but before she did the doe caught her.
“We leave now!” Lancely called out as he hopped onto his bird. The bird let out a screech before taking flight.
Aaron grinned as he passed Cassady just a few yards from the house. He could feel the cold breeze blowing through his black fur and clothes it felt wonderful. Like when he was a little kid, it brought back memories. He remembered the time when he and Bella used to the same thing, it made him grin wider as he thought about all the good times he used to have.
Aaron saw Cassady gaining on him, then she said as she started to pass him, “I don’t think you’re going to –”
But before Cassady could finish a loud boom filled the air and they were blown back by the concussive wave. The house lit up in a brilliant, blinding flash of fire.
When Aaron hit the ground, pain shot through his whole body, and his ears rang from the loud explosion. Cassady’s home was annihilated, lit up a thousand flames that licked the air. Confusion swelled within him. What had just happened?
He slowly sat up wincing from the antagonizing pain that accosted him. He remembered Cassady and started to look for her, he hoped she was alive. His heart sunk when he saw her laying a few feet from the flaming house. He could see from here that she was covered in blood. He heard a loud screech rip through the air, so loud that he felt like he was going to burst. But then he saw something else. Shadows were over him. He looked up to see a massive bird with a rider. The bird’s sharp talons were inches away and ready to snatch him up.
NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE don't kill Cassady!!! You won't. She's Cassie's. You won't kill Cassie, will you?
