“We’re here,” Hanna said, looking up at the dark, foreboding, form of Kingston palace.

“Its huge, he could be anywhere,” Jo said backing away.

Niles looked at Jo then at the palace.

“It won’t be hard, we have a map,” Niles said, reassuring, even though he was the smallest and the youngest, he always seemed to be the one to reassure his older cousins.

Hanna smiled at her brave little cousin and said. “Niles is right, we have a map. Let’s go,”

“Its not that simple Hanna,” Jo hissed. “There’s got to be at least a hundred guards in there!”

“And your point is?” Hanna asked as she drew her sword and Maylie readied her crossbow.

“You can’t be serious!” Jo yelled.

“We are and if you don’t want to come then go away and be a coward,” Hanna spat.

Jo hung his head and fingered the hilt of his sword. He glanced at Niles with a look that Hanna couldn’t describe, then he said.

“Fine, let’s go.”

The all to familiar sound of Fane's footsteps echoed down the hall.

Rynn shut his useless eyes as he heard the door to his cell open.

“Rynn!” Fane hissed.

“What do you want from me Fane? You’ve already taken my home, my family, my hope, my love… And my sight, what more do you want?” Rynn asked in a hoarse voice.

Rynn felt something kick his ribs, he groaned and rolled over.

“Where are they?!” Fane commanded.

The pitch of Fane's voice hurt his sensitive ears.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about Fane,” Rynn said. Another kick to the ribs harder this time. He gasped in pain as he rolled into a ball clutching his middle.

“You know what I’m talking about! Where is the princess and her cousins!” Fane yelled.

“I’ll never tell you,” Rynn said wheezing.

“I think you will,” Fane said.

Rynn heard two more sets of footsteps enter the room.

“Take him to the dragons, they will make him speak,” Fane said.

Rynn felt someone grab his arms, jerking him to his feet.

“Fane wait! Please don’t!” Rynn yelled as the guards started to drag him away.

“Wait Fane! Kingston palace! Their going to Kingston palace, to find William! I promise that’s where their going!”

Fane chuckled. “Thanks for information Rynn, take him away,”

Rynn screamed as he was dragged away, fear gripping him.
