So ok ast weekend I made a system of Runes, and I decided it'd be cool to make a few into something special.... Anyway I might post my chart thingy for the sword in this chapter later??
Next chapter in Falcowits Story
--Fleck Cove
A year later
Rex pushed his way, gently, of course, through the mob of angry rabbits, up to the center stage where a bewildered Lord Rake stood, hiding from sight as rabbits yelled at the Citadel Lord. The few Forest Guards gathered around the crowd were desperately trying to stop the mob.
"Will Someone listen to reason here!" Fleck Cove, Cloud Mountain's young lieutenant, was screaming at the top of his lungs. Desperately, he pushed back the throng of Harbone rabbits, who shoved him around like he was a punching bag.
"What in the-" Rex began, but someone was toppling him over to get to the Citadel Lord.
"Silence! Now! Instantaneously! Post haste! Currently! Stop your screaming!" Fleck yelled. No one stopped. I gasped, lurching forward, but Cove had drawn a beautiful sword, about five feet tall, shining like diamonds, and made of harsh thick, uneven, scraggly rock. On the hilt was neatly etched some very small runes.
"Starlight." Rex whispered. He wasn't sure from a distance, but this sword was definitely fine craft, likely Elven. The crowd hushed. Kits stared at the glowing blade while mother's pulled them away. But Fleck just cast his sword to the floor, where the shine completely occured. Patterns. Leaves on vines and sword-weilding rabbits, runes, and beautiful arrows. Rainbows- you name it, and it would likely be in the design. I saw Fleck leaping down, quite flustered, to sheathe his blade, then sprint away.
And I knew why.
"Fleck! Wait up!" I yelled, sprinting after him. Harbone had done it's destruction. The halls were covered in soot and ash, old tapestries ripped. The worst damage was at the king's Garden. Plants ruined, dirt everywhere, and broken panels. Fleck kept running, as did I.
"Wait up!" I turned around to see two rabbits about Flecks age, running next to each other.
"Hanna! Redthaw!" Fleck looked back, came sprinting up.
"All in our favor, The Radicalutionists as they call themselves, were rude enough to make us 'see why Cloud Mountain must go'" Redthaw explained. Fleck nodded.
"Hewson would never put up with this." He said. His hand rested on this sword hilt. Starlight. I remembered, biting my lip. Legendary elven blade.
"Do you guys still, I dunno, still think the Maker hears us?" Fleck asked.
"Of course he does, Fleck. I don't ken why you brought it up anyway." Hanna said.
Fleck nodded, grabbing a torch from the wall nearby. "Look at these runes!" He ran his hands across the wall. "Believe, the Maker shall hear, no thing is to great for him to do."
"Is it a riddle? Cause I know someone who used to love solving riddles." Redthaw muttered.
"Kieron?" Hanna asked. Redthaw nodded.
They said other things, but my eyes caught a gleam. A sword. I stepped forward and grabbed the hilt, letting it rest in my hands.
"The Bluffer." I whispered. "Fleck was right. Cloud Mountain is bluffers peak."
Oo, this was very fun to read!!! So thrilling to read about the Starlight sword, and the patterns it made on the ground - I could totally see it in my head!!! You don't need to rewrite it unless you want! (Btw, who is the 'I' in here? I think I forgot...)
Should I rewrite this? I kinda did it in a rush....
