Wilfred’s situation at the conclusion of Ember’s End is kind of wild:
He’s basically Smalls’ adopted father in all but name, and he’s married to Weezie’s widowed mother. This makes him the closest thing his niece Heather and nephew Picket have to a father-in-law. If Jacks happened to marry one of Wilfred’s adopted daughters, you could argue that Wilfred would have pulled off a combination uncle/non-biological father-in-law hat trick.
And no, that’s not a rabbit joke.
