Being the weird person I am, I started thinking, "Who could die in Ember Ends?"
Let's start with who will not die (and who's NOT dead):
Heather, Pickett, Smalls
These three characters are (almost) GUARANTEED to survive. Yes, SMALLS LIVES! (it's kinda obvious.
People I think might die:
Jo, Morbin
If the main villain dies, it would explain the title. But that doesn't mean I think the series will end. Eventually, MR Smith will have to move on. The same plot can't go on forever. I think this is the EMBER wars END, but not the end of the troubles for the bunnies... I'm sorry, rabbits.
And Jo, I just don't think he'll make it
I agree with you.
I can’t see Jo dying after The Last Archer. I mean, he was just one of the soldiers before, but that book gave him backstory—authors don’t kill off characters they write a whole other book for lightly. (I also think he might be good for Emma!! They complement each other’s strengths wonderfully.) And, to be honest, I am a little worried for Pick—we all love him and he’s amazing, but he’s bested death so many times before it seems like Master Smith might possibly be building up to something truly dramatic. Heather of course will live, as will Smalls, after that end of Ember Rising. I think Edward and Maggie Weaver are also safe. Emma…I’m worried about, now that Smalls is on his way back. Whittle (I think? Heather and Picket’s dad) and Sween are safe, but Garten could die. I just hope he comes over to the good side before he hopefully heroically sacrifices himself. Morbin will definitely die.
The unknown prospects that have no foreseeable purpose in The End that could either live or die: Weezie, Heyna, Cole, Aunt Joan, the rest of Smalls’ and Emma’s brothers, etc. What do you think? I obviously want them all to live, but I don’t know whether or not they will.
Morbin of course. Joe most likely not.
Of cour
but she did fall down a cliff with a sword wound in her belly
@Kilmarnock228 hah, Master Smith :)
Cute bunny gif. I'm a little worried for Pick, actually. Jo has stolen the show a bit, it seems. But he's a good character, good enough to go from being a brief episode in Book 1 to one of the primary characters.
S. D. Smith has indicated that this will be the final book of the main series. I would guess that any future books will examine rabbit history, such as the eras of Blue Moss Hills, Golden Coast, and King Jupiter. I also figure we’ll get another Tale of Old Natalia or two.
Not Jo. Jo is destined to marry Emma. I'm sure of it.
