A comment by @Ilikegreenembers gave me an idea for something I don’t think we’ve done on the site before. We’ve all gotten pretty used to thinking of each other by our usernames. The question is, what prompted each of us to choose the name that we did? I thought it would be fun to share.

Kilmarnock228 is also my Wiki username, the latest of a half-dozen or so I’ve had over the course of the years. After basing my names on fandoms that I ultimately ended up disliking and not wanting anything to do with anymore, I decided to go for something I know I won’t potentially, eventually become disgusted with: something based on my heritage. To get the boring part out of the way, 228 stands for my birthday, February 28.

Kilmarnock happens to be a burgh, or town, in Scotland. (There’s also one is Virginia, so not too far from the birthplace of the series we all love). A branch of my family is from the original one, and it’s a heritage I am grateful for. Though I can’t help but wonder if it’s being
