Following in the recent trend of considering possible extensions of GE into other mediums/products, I thought this might be worth a think. (Also having recently read Beyond the Western Deep got me thinking about it.) Story-wise, I think a Jo Shanks story would work well in graphic novel form. The relatively short but action and character-rich plots would translate well into comics, I think. Additionally, most of the action and violence that does occur is small-scale (and with less "chopping" ad Sam would say) as compared to the huge battles in the main series. That fact might make it easier to portray the story faithfully but still in a relatively kid-friendly manner. Or it could be a completely new story! What would you want to see? As far as art goes, I really like Rachel Bennet (of BtWD)'s style and think it would translate well into GE. As it happens, though, Joe Sutphin (illustrator of Wingfeather books and friend of Sam) is working on a graphic novel adaptation of Watership Down, and the pieces he's shown look really great. He's also illustrating a version of Pilgrim's Progress wherein the characters are animals, and those designs look amazing as well. I've wanted to see his interpretation of GE characters for a while, and I feel like he would be a possible artist were a GE graphic novel to actually be made. Anyways, those are my thoughts. What do you think about this idea? -Ian

This is a fun idea. The longer books could probably be broken up into several installments. There’s also a few tricks they could probably use to keep things kid friendly; I made some suggestions in the TV/movie thread I started a ways back:
