The skies once so blue and beautiful

Are littered with crass, cruel foes

Their bleak, black wings beat a dreadful beat

Over sorrowful songs of woes

But it will not be so in the Mended Wood

Thanks!
i play the recorder-but not well- i'll have to try this!!
@Ellie Hoffman-Brooks You study Latin too? I'm starting to wonder if you're a long-lost twin or something! And thanks for the music! I'll definitely have to try it!
I looked up The Green Ember and just stumbled upon this site. I'd been reading it for a while, but I made an account just to share that really dark fan theory.
WOw!!! Thanks so much! Once we learn how to play something we'll use this...lol....Also welcome @Ellie Hoffman-Brooks! We hope you enjoy the site! And may we ask how you found it?
The Mended Wood, key of D Major
Yay! Thanks! I found The Mended Wood sheet music on musescore.com a few years back, but now most of the things on there aren't free. The one I have is in Bb major too.
If anyone wants this in D Major, I am working on sheet music
Also, I see you liked "Helmer's Death, the Laurens Interlude, and a very dark fan theory!" What did you think of my theory? Far-fetched? Painful? Mildly plausible? Let me know! I literally came up with it at 6 AM today.
I'd have known the "musica mea anima est" regardless, as it's a Penderwicks reference (book 4, specifically). If you see my profile here, you'll know that on Wattpad, my username is the_laetus_poeta.
amo, amare, amavi, amatus (1st conjugation) [amicable, amorous, amiable]
Present
amo, amas, amat, amamus, amatis, amant
Imperfect
amabam, amabas, amabat, amabamus, amabatis, amabant
Future
amabo, amabis, amabit, amabimus, amabistis, amabunt
Perfect
amavi, amavisti, amavit, amavimus, amavistis, amaverunt
Pluperfect
amaveram, amaveras, amaverat, amaveramus, amaveratis, amaverant
Also, the infinitive is supposed to have "s" instead of "r," but thanks to the supposed-to-be-s being sandwiched between two vowels, it's rhotacizatized and becomes an "r."
Ita vero. I do it for school, and I'm the only kid in my class who actually likes it. I'm a bit of an etymology geek.
You're very welcome. Musica mea anima est.
Well, if playing by ear's a struggle for you, struggle no more!
Ooh awesome!!! I've just been playing it by ear 😂😂
