Morgan jogged across the room, attempting to get to his desk. He slid into the seat, as the teacher walked to the front of the room.

"Okay, class! Today we're starting group projects for the rest of the semester. I will pick your partners, so here they are:" He started to read a list of pairs, but Morgan didn't pay attention.

"And Morgan, and Emma."

Morgan looked over at Emma. He had talked to her occasionally, but they weren’t very good friends. Their fathers, Jupiter and Booker, were friends, so they had seen each other at events, but they weren’t close.

“I’m going to give each pairing a subject, and then you’ll have the rest of class time to work on it with your partner,” Mr. Longtreader said. He started assigning topics, but again, Morgan wasn’t paying attention.

“Emma and Morgan - you two will study the effects of war on a person. It is a deep topic and may be depressing at times to research, but I know that you can handle it. You may now start researching with your partner,” with that, Mr. Whittle Longtreader sat down at his desk

Morgan stood up and walked over to Emma.

“Hey,” Morgan said.

“Hi, Morgan.”

“So, who talks first? You talk first? I talk first?”
