Wil clutched the wagon and leaned forward to look at the black being, the rabbit had eerily red eyes, Wil looked over at Hence, Hence was standing up, his cape slowly billowed in the wind.
“State your name, then could ya scooch over a bit? Me and my friends have places to be.”
Friends? Wil looked down, friends are great.
The rabbit merely walked towards them, raising his sword and shield.
Wil watched as Hence turned and grabbed something out of the wagon. When Hence turned back to the rabbit Will saw the giant sword in his hand, Will immediately grabbed his Father’s sword from his back and whipped it off, he tensed, and readied himself for a fight. He almost fell over with the sheer weight of sword.
“Wait!” the black rabbit had a young child-like voice, he raised his sword high and over his back, sheathing it then placing his shield over it, “I am sorry, but you startled me!”
“I could say the same.” Hence said, not relaxing as Will was, perhaps Will should follow suit.
The black one started to walk forward but stopped when he saw Pepper, she ruffled her feathers and spread her wings, making her seem bigger than she really big.
“Hey! Call your bird off!”
She’s not any one’s bird, she’s her own person.” Hence said, getting out of the wagon and walking forward, shifting his falchion over into his left hand while with his right he placed on Pepper’s left wing.
“Well I don’t want to get hurt so-.”
“If you didn’t want to get hurt why the sword?” Hence sneered, why was Hence being so cold?
“It’s just a precaution, I-”
“Precaution? To hurt innocent bystanders?”
“No! I-.”
“Lay off Hence!” Why was Will in such a trusting mood? He had no right to trust these guys! But he did? Why?
“What gives you a right little one?” Hence spoke.
Oh right, I still haven’t given him a name. Will thought.
“The name is Will.” I won’t give him a last name, names can be dangerous.
The black rabbit watched them.
“Why don’t we sit down and talk? I wonder why a Half-Wind soldier is so far away from home?” Will said.
The rabbit narrowed his rounder eyes, and nodded. He must be wondering how I know about the citadels so much? How would he feel if he knew my father was a Lord? Heh, probably would laugh at me.
“Well, it is getting dark, I guess we should turn in…” Hence grumbled

Hence grumpily poked at the fire, mumbling words under his breath, Pepper was nestled behind him, snoring softly.
Will was talking to the black rabbit. Who’s name turned out to be Stacey, Stacey Waldo.
He’s a Half wind soldier who was sent out on a mission, a solo mission. He was to send an important message to the Ruler of Natalia. Which meant going to First Warren, but something had happened and he lost his way and it seems he went the opposite way and he was lost.
“Maybe...Maybe you could come with us!” Will spoke up.
“Absolutely not!” Hence said, jumping up, arousing Pepper, who grumpily got up and scooched away.
“Why?!” Will said, also standing up, Hence was much taller than him, he stood no chance, “You let me!” Will said crisply
“I asked you, but this is my wagon! I don’t want a ‘soldier’ in my wagon! Authors of war only bring trouble! I don’t want him in my wagon!”
“Why are you so sour, Hence?” Pepper butted in.
“I’m not upset.”
“You know how you get.”
“How do I get?”
“You get upset,” Pepper rolled her dark eyes.
“I’m not upset!”
“Enough!” Stacey was up, everyone was on their feet, red in the face. “I would appreciate the help,” Hence huffed out heated breath, “And the offer was nice,” Will straightened, “But I know when I am not welcome, I will take my leave. Goodbye.” Stacey grabbed his satchel and turned away.
Hence looked down, he was flushing.
“Wait.” He said.
Stacey turned.
“I don’t have much room on my wagon,” Stacey looked away at this, “But, hold on now kid I ain't finished.” Stacey walked forward as Hence continued, “But you could follow the wagon, maybe ride a wheel.”
Stacey’s red eyes beamed, his short ears perked forward. Pepper smiled, and Will looked down and chuckled, shaking his head at his friends arrogant pride.
Hence’s face softened, then he shook his head and hardened his stare, “Well, goodnight. We head out early tomorrow.”
Will smiled.
