it made no sense. but my life makes no sense. so, does it really matter? Anyways, i knew i couldn't let Garten get to the others. King Jupiter was dead. Fleck was likely dead. the whole King's Arm, except for Meeker and possibly Fleck, were dead. We were all captured.
I had to do something. I had to get free. I had to rise up! I braced, leaping from the enemy, landing a striking kick in the enemy rabbit's middle. i grabbed his sword, sliced my ropes, and charged at Morbin.
"IKKER! NO!" Meeker yelled. i ignored it, charging onward, fire like a flint strike burning for the good side. I leapt, launching at the enormous bird, rotating in midair, and sending Morbin crashing into the forest, knocking the great bird unconscious.
By the time i turned around, the otrhers were free and many were dashing for the forest. time for Garten! I leapt at the evil buck, sending him crashing next to Morbin in a daze.
"IKKER!" Meeker exclaimed. "What do we do?"
"Get to the forest! find a safe place to camp for the night!" I exclaimed.
"What about you, Ikker?" Meeker asked.
"I'll stay with Fleck, till the end." I said, glancing around Jupiter's crossing. for the first time that day, it dawned on me. King Jupiter was dead. Gone. Morbin would take control of First Warren.
"I'll stay too." He volunteered. i shook my head at him.
"My place beside you."
"My blood for yours." i added. Meeker trudged into the clearing, and i walked, heart heavy, over to garten who was now standing.
"My name is Ikker Gomeson. You have either killed or seriously wounded my friend. Leave. Now."
to my surprise, Garten obeyed.
i started to wonder if it had been wise, Garten would try to kill me. I fell to the ground my Fleck, sobbing.
Minutes passed, but soon Wilfred Longtreader was running from the forest.
"IKKER GOMESON! NO RABBIT LEFT BEHIND!" he yelled.
"But-"
"I'll take care of Fleck! now go!" Wilfred yelled. i sprinted into the forest, farther and farther in, until i came to a small camp. this was camp. The fall had struck. I sighed.
no answer! at least not yet....
