Sorry this is SOO late. Life’s been getting in the way of stuff. Anyways... Previously on chapter 14, by @Bearer of the Flame Stormy looked up and down the forest path suspiciously. She had been asked to deliver an order of groceries to a farm a couple minutes down the road but she turned down the wrong road at the intersection, realizing too late. She scowled. "Way to go, Stormy... now your never gonna be asked to make deliveries!" She cursed under her breath as she shifted the parcels in her arms before turning back down the road. She walked down the road for a good twenty minutes before she found the intersection. Sighing, she crossed it and headed down the right road and soon saw the farmhouse. She struggled up the porch steps and knocked on the door, trying to not appear frustrated. The door opened and she saw Xavia. Stormy studied her expression a moment before she remembered. "Xavia, right? We met in the forest a couple weeks ago... I think?" Stormy thought aloud. Xavia smiled. "Yah! You're Stormy?" She nodded, trying to balance the heavy groceries. "Here, let me take some of those," Xavia offered as she took some of the packages. Holding the door open, she motioned Stormy inside. Once the deliveries were safely on the table, Stormy readjusted her satchel over her shoulder. "Well, I better get going." Xavia looked at her with what looked like despair. But she smiled. "Would you stay for dinner?" She offered. Stormy fidgeted with her bag strap. "Well..." she hesitated. Xavia gave her a sly look. "Its settled. You'll join us!" Stormy coughed. "Well, I wouldn't want to impose or-" Xavia wiggled a finger at her. "You won't!" Xavia then began to work in the kitchen, adding some chopped veggies to a pot over the fire. Stormy sighed and began to help, hoping she wouldn't mess anything up. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lallo and Picket were hard at work in the garden. “So Picket, what do you think about this year’s harvest?” “Ehh, not our best, not our worst; so decent”, Picket replied. Just as they were drawing to an end of harvesting, Picket heard his name. “Picket”, it was Nova’s voice. Picket didn’t know why he didn’t Ike Nova, for he was a pretty nice buck. He guessed it was because he used to be a solider from Akaolan. He had came with his father, when they were stuck in Akaolan and when they left, they asked some soldiers to come along also. But he was loyal to Smalls and his cause. “Well hello Nova. What brings you to the farm today?” “Well Picket, I want to know if I could use Lallo today; that is, after you get done harvesting”, Nova asked, then putting his hand on Picket’s shoulder, trying to be friendly. “Well Lallo, once we get done harvesting, do you want to go help Nova to do,” he then paused realizing that Nova didn’t tell him what he wanted him for. “Wait, what do you want him to help you on again?” “Oh, just to help me fix the loft of the barn. It’s not as sturdy as it used to be and Cassian helped me figure it out when he fell from it and hurt his shoulder”, Nova said, smiling at the last part. “Well, it is not my decision, for I will not be the one helping”, Picket said. “The decision is Lallo’s,” he said as he pointed to Lallo. “I wouldn’t mind helping”, Lallo said. “What time do think we will be finished Picket?” “Probably in a few hours”, Picket said. “Then a few hours it will be”, Nova said clearly happy. “Okay then, I must be getting on my way. I’ve gotta grocery order coming in here in about an hour.” And with that Nova headed home. Hope you guys liked it and sorry again for it be so late. :(
