i probably post too much. anyway, here's the missing part of Fleck's story.
Three weary travelors arrived at the edge of the forest in a light drizzle. The eldest two had their hoods up to block the howling winter winds and the freezing rain. The youngest shivered, wrapping himself in his cloak.
.......................................................
"Fleck." Levi, Fleck's youngest cousin, cried out/
"You can make it, Levi." Joe, Fleck's younger cousin, responded. The cousins were cold, hungry, and tired, Fleck knew. His own stomach was growling for something other then dried bread.
But he was the leader. He had lead them from Kingston when the rest of their family had been killed. And he wasn't quitting now.
"The first warren." Fleck said.
"Come on." Joe said, tightening his hood. the rain was turning to cold snow, wheeling on the wind with the gusts of a blizzard. The cousins trekked through the wind to the gate.
They entered the first warren. The three bucks shivered as they trekked through a forest of frozen trees. Levi struggled not to pass out from the cold. The bucks soon arrived in an open field.
At the far end of the clearing stood a small farm house, icicles hanging from the eves.
"Come on." Fleck said, shivering. the cousins walked up to the door and knocked.
"Come inside!" exclaimed a white buck.
"I-I'm Fleck." Fleck whispered. "This is Joe and Levi."
"Airen. We have guests!" the white buck exclaimed. two little does came running into the room, followed by an exasperated grey doe.
