Sorry I have short chapters, but I like it.

Cassie heard the screams too, and ran into the room. She drew her sword and looked out the window. There was no trace of anyone besides broken glass. She jumped down without thinking and the glass cut into her boots. She cringed, but kept running. She saw a hooded figure and followed it into the alleyway.

“Give up now,” she said.

The person just looked at her, their hood up, and snarled. Cassie slashed at the figure, but missed. The figure jumped onto the rooftop in front of Cassie, and ran off. Cassie jumped after, but missed and fell to the ground with a thunk.

“I’ll find you. I’ll find my friends,” she said, then everything went black.
