Isle was in a dark room. It was dark, it was cold, and she was scared. (ROTG) She shivered. She tried to find a light source, but there was none. It was pitch black.

“Joel?” she asked into the darkness.

“Isle. Isle, I’m here,” Joel’s voice said.

“Joel, I’m scared,” she said.

“I’m here, Isle. I’m here,” he said.

“Are we going to be okay? Will I see my parents again?” she asked, grabbing his hand tight.

“I’ll get you out of here, Isle, I promise,” he said, squeezing her hand back

Footsteps. Joel heard footsteps. He recognized them from years ago. They were the footsteps of his father.
