I beat my wings as I glided low over the lake. I was watching two bucks, one with light grey fur, the other with hazel brown fur. The brown buck sprinted off, leaving the younger buck to leap onto the ice.
He screamed. The little rabbit screamed, falling through the ice. I beat my wings, gliding low over the lake. I extended my sharp talons to pick the little rabbit up. I noticed he was bleeding from a gash on his head. I flew up, up, up.
I felt the sharp sting of an arrow. Despite the fact that a rabbit archer with keen skills lurked below, I gently lay the wounded buck on the ground before flying up.
………………………….
Fleck turned, hearing a scream. Jupie. Fear pounded in his veins as he raced back to Ayman Lake. He froze at what he saw. A raptor was carrying his young friend off.
Fleck winced as he pulled an arrow with his broken wrist. He set the arrow and fired. His shot found it’s target and wounded the bird. Fleck lerapt sideways as the bird set Jupie gently down and flew off.
“Fleck? Jupie?” A blonde-furred doe came from the shore of Ayman Lake. Seeing Jupie, she crouched next to him
“Cassie, a raptor saved your brother”
