Jaidie
The weeks passed quickly. Peter’s wrist healed the best it would and soon Peter was allowed to walk. The Citadel of Dreams was a nice place, with nice rabbits. Tyse seemed to thrive there but no matter how nice everything was Peter could not get rid of the nagging ache in his stomach that something was going to or already had happened to Rexly.
Moonlight sent rabbits out to look for Rexly but it was no use. Rexly was nowhere to be found. Peter wondered if he would ever find his friend. It seemed pointless to try. He was just starting to adjust to his new life here in the Citadel of Dreams and then that’s when it changed.
Peter woke one day to the sound of loud, joyful music. He groaned and threw his blanket off, sat up, and rubbed his eyes. With a yawn, he stood and quickly dressed. Once he was done, he went over to the door, he could definitely hear music coming from downstairs. He slowly opened the door and the music grew louder till he could make out some of the words.
“Come, come and find your friends inside come while the…”
Peter furrowed his brows, what was going on down there? He rubbed his eyes and hurried down the stairs. He needed to talk to Tyse about Rexly, but when he reached the bottom of the stairs he froze.
Rabbits were everywhere! Singing and dancing and talking all at once. It was overwhelming. Peter looked around for Tyse but he couldn’t find him in the sea of dancing rabbits.
Peter sighed and walked over to a buck who was leaned against the wall a smile on his face. Peter took a deep breath, then tapped the buck on the shoulder. “Um, excuse me.”
The buck looked at him, “Yes.”
Peter bit his lip. “Uh, what’s going on here?”
The buck’s smile widened. “Haven’t you heard? The Pac-Slayer is here! Like in this room right now, isn’t it great!?”
Peter looked around; he remembered the story Tyse had told him when they first met but he hadn’t believed it. But now the Pac-Slayer was actually here, he shook his head.
“Hey, there he is! Right there, you see him?” The buck said pointing to the center of the room.
Peter followed his arm to see Moonlight talking to a golden, grayish buck. He had a sword at his side and wore a black scarf around his neck. Peter’s brows furrowed the buck wasn’t what he had expected the Pac-Slayer to look like. For starters he really wasn’t all that tall he was actually shorter than Moonlight, he was pretty small in build too and he certainly was younger than Peter had imagined, he looked to be only a few years older than Peter.
Peter looked at the buck and pointed to the supposed Pac-Slayer. “Him? He’s the Pac-Slayer?”
The buck smiled and nodded. “Yep, he’s the Pac-Slayer, best of swordsbucks.”
Peter’s mouth fell open. “Don’t you think he’s a bit young and…” Peter paused, “small.”
The buck laughed and walked away shaking his head. Peter looked back at the Pac-Slayer, if he was the best they had then they were so going to lose this war.
“Peter, over here!”
Peter turned to see Sydney motioning him over. He sighed and walked over to Sydney and her father. A knot forming in his stomach. He needed to find Rexly, not stay here and celebrate the arrival of someone he didn’t even believe in.
Rexly looked up as the door to the dungeon opened. Captain Zyn walked in then Daggler who seemed to be in a very bad mood. Daggler leaned against the wall crossing his arms. Captain Zyn walked towards Rexly’s cell. Rexly backed into the corner and stared at Captain Zyn then said, “You’ll never find him, ever.”
Captain Zyn laughed. “Oh, don’t worry we might not find him but…” Captain Zyn chuckled, “he might find us. You see little thief, Victory Day is coming soon, you’re a little thin but I’m sure Morbin won’t mind as long as you taste good.” Captain Zyn smiled.
Rexly hid his face in his knees and whimpered softly. They were going to feed him to Morbin. A shiver crept up his spine and another whimper escaped his mouth. He didn’t want to die he was too young, too young. He whimpered again.
Captain Zyn laughed. “We’ll have your little friend soon enough, that is if he cares anything about your life.” Captain Zyn spat on him.
Rexly hugged his knees.
“Zyn, let’s go,” Daggler said though his voice was raspy and cracked.
A little strange, Rexly thought. He heard them leave and sighed, then he looked up, “Oh Maker, please keep me safe I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die.” He sobbed. He hoped Peter was okay, wherever he was. Please, be alive Peter, please. I need you, I need you!
Picket Picket PICKET!!!! I love him so much!! Peter's thoughts on him were hilariously relatable. I mean, even if I was alive during Jesus' time I don't think I'd believe he was who he said he was. Why is it so much easier to believe in something that already happened? XD
Poor little Rexly.
#Syter is awesome.
UGH I hate Captain Zyn!!! Hang in there Rexly!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it was so funny how Peter is not impressed by how Picket looks... he's like, THAT'S the Pac-Slayer? Oh poor Pick! I love #Syter and can't wait for the next chapter!!!
(Yay, hope school begins well!!)
oh my goodness. that was so wonderful. the way you showed Peter's beliefs about Picket... It was so good, but so sad he doesn't think Picket is real! I love how you described the music and dancing. and oh no!!! not Rexly!!!!!!!!! i dont want him to die!!!!!!! Daggler *spits*. how dare he! I kept thinking this was actually happening!!!!!!!!!!!!
and i get the shorter chapters. at least you still have time to write!
