Okay here’s chapter 6!
David ran dodging arrows as he went, they were almost there. He could see the city gate just ahead, so close, so close to freedom from this awful place. So close. He turned his head to see if Alan was still behind him. He skidded to a halt, Alan wasn’t there. He looked around frantically looking for any sign of his friend, but he saw nothing. There was no sign of Alan anywhere.
David’s heart began to race where was Alan? “Alan! Alan!” He yelled but there was no answer. “Alan!” He yelled again, this time louder, still nothing.
David started running again this time he ran towards the Black Band yelling Alan’s name over and over again. If there was one thing David knew it was that Alan was one of the fastest runners he knew, something was wrong. He just hoped Alan was okay, maybe he got distracted.
David stopped putting his hands on his knees and gasping for breath. “Alan!” He yelled and then he heard something a voice yell, “David! David go they’re coming!” It was Alan, but his voice was weak and filled with pain.
David ran in the direction that Alan’s voice had come from, then he saw him. Alan lay on the ground a look of pain on his face and David saw why; an arrow was stuck in Alan’s leg. He knelt down beside Alan and started to pick him up, but Alan pushed him away and said, his voice full of pain, “No David, leave me there’s no time, I’ll only slow you down. Go, leave me!”
David shook his head. “No, no one get’s left behind no one!” With that David took Alan gently in his arms trying not to hurt him even more, which was hard because the arrow was still in Alan’s leg. But he managed to get Alan off the ground without breaking the arrow. “It’s okay Alan, I’ve got you, I’m going to get you out of here.”
Alan groaned, then mumbled, “It hurts.”
“I know, it’s okay,” David said as he started to run towards the gate. He looked back, the Black Band was coming! David finally reached the gates, gasping for air. The white rabbit Ky was already there pulling at the gates. “Let’s go, Ky open the gate.”
Ky tugged at the gate then shook his head and said his voice filled with horror, “I can’t its locked. The gate is locked, there’s no way out!”
Hope you guys liked it! 😊
Oh no! I love how Davy is such a good friend sticking with Alan! Can't wait for the next chapter!
