It had been three months since that had all happened. Their father was dead now, killed by Daggler himself. They hadn’t talk about it since and mother had not spoken much. Layra looked at their mother and said, “Me and Weezie are going to shoot our bows, we’ll be back before super.”

Their mother looked up at them and nodded. Layra and Weezie walked over and hugged her. Weezie kissed her gently on the cheek, Layra did the same. “Be careful,” their mother said.

“We will!” Weezie said, softly. Layra opened the door and said, “Are you coming Weezie?”

Weezie smiled and nodded as she ran out the door. Layra closed the door behind her and then turned around as Weezie said, “I’ll race you there!” With that Weezie ran off.

Layra smiled and ran after her sister. “Wait up!” She yelled, as she tried to catchup.

“I don’t think so,” Weezie threw over shoulder as she kept running.

“Why not?”

“Because I know you better than that Layra, if I wait for you then you will cheat!” Weezie said, as she ran faster.

Layra ran faster too. Faster than she ever had before. She was running so fast that she wasn’t paying attention to anything. Then she ran into someone, head on, and they both fell to the ground.

“Please, watch where you’re going!” A buck’s voice said, half in anger, half in pain.

“Me? What about you?” Layra said, sitting up and rubbing her head.

“Last time I checked I wasn’t the one running around like a daft limmer,” The buck said as he got to his feet. He then began to dust his clothes off. Once he was done, he offered Layra his hand. She grabbed it and he started to help her up then he let go and Layra fell back to the ground.

“You are so mean,” Layra said, glaring at him.

Chapter 6 posted! And if you don't know what daft limmer means, which most people don't so don't feel bad, its Scottish slang for crazy woman.
