Eileen leaned back as Lancely’s sword swung past her head with amazing speed, it could have cut her head clean off. But she was not fast enough, Eileen felt the sharp sword barely nick her throat as she leaned further back to escape the blade that was after her. Once the blade was past her head, she brought her own sword around and tried to aim for Lancely’s shoulder; but he sidestepped out of the way with an evil grin upon his face.
Eileen glared at him with pure hatred as she brought her sword up, ready for another strike. This time she went for the middle, with ease Lancely deflected her blade, causing her to lose her balance. She tried to steady herself before the next strike would come, but it was too late.
Lancely spun his sword around and drove it through Eileen’s middle.
Eileen let out a scream as agonizing pain crept through her whole body. She heard Lancely laughing evilly as he pulled his sword from her center. Eileen tried to hold her scream in this time but the pain was too much to bear. This time her scream was louder and the pain which pounded through her veins was worse. She crumpled to the ground. She looked up to see Akrasia pierced with the villain’s sword, her wound running freely.
Eileen’s vision began to blur as the pain overtook her. She watched as Lancely walked toward her and said with a voice that caused Eileen to shiver, “I told you that you would be dead Eileen. You see that is what happens to traitors. You die for betraying your side, you chose this! And now, I get the pleasure of finishing you.” Lancely stepped closer.
Her heart froze and all she could feel was pain, if this was her time to die then let it be. Eileen looked up at Lancely, eyes filled with hatred. She then said without hesitating, “Kill me Lancely, I have served my purpose here. I know who I am now and I’m ready to go to my true home and that is with the Maker. Before you take my life away, I would like to have a word with my sister, just one word, it’s all I ask for.”
Lancely sneered as he raised his sword high over his head. “I’m afraid you won’t be having any last words with your sister! You can say bye to the world and your friends!” He began to bring the sword down toward her heart.
“Noo!”
Eileen knew who called out, it was Akrasia. She looked to see where she was, but she could only make out that the voice had sounded close. She waited for the end of her life as Lancely’s laughter rang in her ears and his sword drew ever closer to her heart.
But then the sword stopped and a loud scream came from Lancely. Lancely’s grip on the sword loosened and then he fell to the ground a knife sticking in his back.
Eileen looked up to see Akrasia with tears in her eyes. Akrasia ran over and sat beside Eileen, her eyes instantly landing on the wound in Eileen’s middle. “Oh Eileen, it’s bad. That means there is nothing I can do…that means…”
Eileen interrupted her sister. “I know, it is my time to leave sister. Did you get the rabbits out of here?”
Akrasia gripped her hand and squeezed. Eileen gave her a weak smile, too weak to hardly breathe. Akrasia spoke, her voice sad, “They are safe and gone for now sister, but I can’t guarantee that Dan will not find them later. I don’t want you to die, Eileen. Please, live for me! Please!”
Eileen watched as tears poured down her sister’s face like rain on a stormy day. It made her want to fight back, but she knew she couldn’t. She knew that she had served her purpose and now it was time for her to go.
“I’m sorry sister, but I served my purpose here in this life, it is now time for me to go to a new home. A home where I’ll be safe, but sister do one thing for me. Look after those rabbits, never stop being a warrior. Never stop fighting for what is right and always carry the flame of hope that burns inside you and flickers in the darkest and toughest times. I love you sister and I’m sorry.” Eileen then closed her eyes and slowly drifted away into a new world of peace, hope, and life. A world where she wouldn’t have to fight anymore.
The last thing Eileen felt was Akrasia lifting her, their faces against each other. She felt Akrasia’s warm tears dripping onto her face and she heard her whisper faintly, “Rest in peace, my sister.”
You guys probably hate me now....please remember the quote from above....Love you guys!
Oh my goodness, I simply couldn't help tearing up at the end!!!!!!!!!!! So sad!!!!!!!!!!!!! But you wrote it so beautifully - especially what Eileen said at the end. Wow!!!! And I loved this phrase - "... tears poured down her sister’s face like rain on a stormy day." 😭 Well, at least the sisters were together. I love this fanfic! 💚💚💚💚💚💚
No, I could never hate you. I'm sad. 😥😥 You made me cry, but I'm glad that Eileen was ready to go home. Her earthly life feels fulfilled and complete, and I am satisfied for her to move on to the next life. 😇😇
