Jo groaned and his eyes flitted open. He was in a dark damp place, he shivered and wrapped his arms around his knees.

“Jo?”

Jo looked up.

“Niles!” Jo said, scrambling over to him.

Niles threw his arms around him.

“Are you okay?” Jo asked, pushing Niles away so he could see his face.

Niles nodded. “I’m fine.”

Jo sighed.

“Now what?” Niles asked, looking around the dark cell.

Jo shook his head. “I don’t know Niles, I really don’t know.”

“Hello Jo.”

A shiver ran down Jo’s spine. Fane.

Fane clicked his tongue. “Enjoying you’re stay?”

Jo looked up at Fane, but said nothing.

Fane chuckled. “What’s wrong Jo, scared?”

Jo bit his lip.

Fane laughed, then became serious. “What are you doing here anyway? Why are you in my palace?” Fane asked.

Jo looked at Niles, but remained silent.

Fane shook his head. “Well, can’t say I didn’t try and give you a chance to save yourselves. Because you see, I know why you’re here. I know that Hanna is just upstairs and I can go and kill her anytime I want. I was only giving you two a chance to confess, to live, but I guess your just stupid,” Fane said as he walked away.

“I think I have it,” William said.

Hanna nodded. “What is it?”

William pushed his glasses up. “It looks like a riddle,” he said, an edge of uncertainty to his voice.

“A riddle?” Hanna asked.

William nodded. “I think so.”

“Someone’s coming!” Maylie said.

William gulped and shut his eyes.

“We need to get out of here,” Hanna said.

William nodded. “I know a way out, come.”

Hanna grabbed the translated note and followed William to the back of the room.

William opened a secret doorway.

“Go,” William said.

“Thank you,” Hanna said, pulling a small bag of blue flowers from her pocket and handing it to William.

“Come on,” Hanna said, motioning for Maylie to follow before descending into the darkness.
