The Rise of Good -Part Two: An Ultimate Weapon
Part Two: An Ultimate Weapon
Bones were scattered on the floor. A puny rabbit doe in tattered dress swept with her head hung low and a look of hopelessness on her face. As it should be, thought the figure looming over her. He sat on a nest of gemstones and golden bones. On one side of him, on a nest of soft, blood red cushions sat his wife, nestled on top of their egg. Their son. His son. He watched the doe sweep away at the dust of his lair. He smiled. A cold, wicked smile.
Soon, all the rabbits would be his slaves, and their young would be for his feasts. His plan was working perfectly. The wild wolves didn’t know it, but they were helping him. As each of the pathetic rabbits’ villages were destroyed, the rabbits flocked to what they called “First Warren”. But as the new arrivals came, the wellbeing of the rabbits dwindled, causing them to be even more weak than they usually were. And now, an ultimate weapon was being made, to crush the rabbits once and for all. Yes, everything was going according to plan. When the weapon was done, he would lead an assault on the rabbits’ so-called “capital” and all of their land would be his!
A voice called him back from his day dreams, “Lord Mortateris! The black sickle is complete!” A brown falcon bowed to his master, relating the good news. He held out in one talon a huge, solid black sickle, rimmed with crimson. It was beautiful.
“Excellent, Bringle! Ready the army! We soon fly to the rabbits’ puny, pathetic city, to crush them forever!” Lord Mortateris Blackhawk laughed an evil laugh. He grabbed the sickle from Bringle and weighed it in his talon. He smiled. It would work perfectly. He looked down at the doe scrubbing the floor, “Their end is inevitable. Your kind is weak, and was only meant to be slaves and meals to those over them. There is nothing they can do to stop me coming. Soon they will all be like you, a stupid slave sweeping the floor, groveling at my feet. Ah! They will make fine meals to dress my table, I can almost taste them!”
The doe stopped sweeping and Mortateris saw her shake. He laughed once more, “You are pathetic!”
Then she looked up, a look of hatred and fury dressed her face. Mortateris was shocked. Instead of trembling in fear, she was trembling in anger. She stared straight into Mortateris’ red eyes and said in a strong and defiant voice, “You're wrong. One of my kind will rise up, and he will not fall. He will rise up and destroy you. Your black sickle will be no match for our legendary blade, the day will come when it will show itself again, and it will kill all your offspring. And then the sword will break, and the Mending will begin.”
Mortateris’ rage was boiling over now. How dare this rabbit defy me!
“Big words for such a little rabbit,” he spat, then screeched and flew forward, black sickle extended for the killing stroke. The doe’s dying scream split the hall.
To be continued...
I loved this though it's sad that the doe died.
