Smalls and all the kids on the bus hid in the woods and they had started walking to the school. Smalls had a feeling that they should have stayed in the bus but it was too late they were already pretty far away.

Emma ran over to Smalls and he looked at her. Heather was with her and she was holding a little girl that Smalls knew as Molly. She was little and her cheeks were red and soaked.

“Are we almost to the school,”Emma asked?”No, we have about a mile or two. Smalls kept checking behind him to make sure no kids fell behind or no one was following them.

 Kylen was walking in the front with Winslow and Naylen followed behind them as if he were the odd one out. “Do you think the teachers will believe us, or if they will let us in,”Heather asked? “Why wouldn’t they let us in where students!

They walked for a long time which for Smalls felt like three hours but really was only a few minutes. 

Soon the school was in sight and everyone started running. The bigger kids picked up the little ones or held their hands. When Smalls made it to the door he started looking inside the glass. It was dark in the office and no one seemed to be inside. 

“Look around, maybe they are just not in there yet. “I wonder if maybe the back door is open,”Heather said?”There's a back door to this school? Smalls looked at her in surprise. “Yes, sometimes it's left unlocked.

Everyone knew that that made no sense and that something was wrong. They all went to the back of the school and everyone was surprised a little girl screamed.
