After everyone ate and talked for a long time it was time for dancing. Heather was a little nervous about this because she never really danced. She had gone to a party back in Nick Hollow and there had been a dance but she didn’t remember it much.

Smalls led Heather out into the middle of the floor and put his hand on her waist. “I don’t know how to dance very well,”she whispered. “I’ll teach you,”he said. It isn’t very hard I will guide you most of the way and anyway everyone will join in after we start. Heather put her hand on Smalls waist and they began to sway. After a few minutes everyone who wanted to dance joined and those who didn’t sat and talked but all were merry and cheerful.

 Heather and Smalls danced together a little and then Heather led him over to where the Longtreaders and the rest of the Jovesons were dancing. Sween saw Heather and ran over. “Oh Heather, I'm so happy and proud of you. 

Whittle walked over and shook hands with Smalls. Jacks ran over. “Heather, why aren't you dancing? Before Heather could reply a new song started up. All the rabbits around started clapping to the beat and Smalls smiled.”Don’t worry Jacks I’ll get her to dance. He grabbed Heather's hand and ran into the middle of the dance floor. Heather didn’t know what was happening but she knew Smalls had something up his sleeve. He twirled her and she spun extremely fast. And all the bucks and wives surrounded them in pairs.”Smalls what's happening? “Do you remember when we were courting and we were at Pickets wedding and there was that dance that all the married people did? Heather then recognized the song and she remembered how the does twirled and bowed to her husband and spun and clasped hands and twirled some more and she knew what to do. The tune became lively and it began. Smalls Twirled her and she let herself spin. Smalls held onto her hand and pulled her and she was right beside him again then she boud and he held her hand and guided her around him in a spin. Then Smalls let go of her hand and boud and she went spinning a few feet away and courtesy and then the song ended and burst into another tune. She got up and smiled at Smalls. “That was fun but I need a break from spinning,”She said.” Agreed,”Smalls said. Heather was excited because though the party would soon be done her time with Smalls was just beginning.
