"General Discussion" Now Open!

Greetings, Menders!

I’m glad to announce that we now have a General Discussion forum category! A lot of you have been asking about this for a while, and here it is! Before you get started there, please read the rules below.

While using the General Discussion category, we ask that you please abide by the previously-instated New Seddleton discussion guidelines, with some minor exceptions and changes:

1. Regardless of the topic, please remain respectful of others’ opinions, even if you disagree with them.

2. Debates are welcome and encouraged, but they must only involve your opinions or views on the topic being discussed. Therefore, no arguments put forward during these debates should involve the debaters themselves (i.e. name-calling, personal attacks, etc.). Also, if you can't handle civil and respectful debate or are offended by others' opinions, please do not engage!

3. We do not tolerate foul language. If Heather or Picket wouldn't say it, please don't employ it!

4. Though it is fun to get to know each other, please be careful about sharing personally identifying information, such as addresses, birthdays, etc. If you are unsure about something, ask a parent or guardian first. (Though if you’re an adult, it’s probably up to you.)

5. We suggest that you avoid potentially divisive subjects such as religion and politics. You can discuss these things if you want, but only if you can do so with civility and respect. This ties in with the other rules very closely, but we wanted to be very specific and clear about it.

6. Have fun! Don’t feel obligated to join in a conversation if it isn’t something you would enjoy. We want this to be a good experience for all involved.
