@Ian G. From The Green Ember p. 236: “The fallen king had about ten sons...”-Kyle to Heather. Of course, of those only Winslow and Whitbie are named besides Smalls.
From Ember Rising p. 207-208: “My living brothers are all traitor. My sisters too, for all I know.”-Emma to Heyna. The fact that she mentions sisters, plural, indicates that there are at least two. Since we were talking about Smalls’ siblings, we include Emma as a third.
Of course, it’s possible Jupiter had more daughters. Large families seem to be somewhat typical among rabbits, with some exceptions. I mean, Whittle and Sween only had three children, while Lord Victor and Lady Blackstar are only known to have had two. Contrast that with Jupiter and Lady Glen’s thirteen+, the Tunneler’s nine, and Lord and Lady Hewson’s seven.
Do you have brother who lives near Murphy, NC, in the Ranger Community area? Our neighbor looks like you? He’s not here all the time, but he has a dog....don’t know, probably not your brother, it’s a long shot...lol...
The Q and A was two days ago. The video should be up soon. Thank you for everyone who asked questions! They were only able to get to about half of them (They also dropped the questions with bigger spoilers because of S. D.'s request) but we hope to have another Q and A at some point in the future and we could hopefully get to the other questions.
Dear Mr Smith, in the first Green Ember book, Smalls and Wilfred have a conference about where they should go and Smalls suggests First Warren. Wilfed says it's too far and 'Winslow has as good as banished us.' Later, Wilfred tells Heather and Picket that they had been in the Great Wood until things got nasty. Then, fast forward to book three, Helmer and Picket sneak into First Warren over the wall. Did Smalls and Wilfred have an in with Winslow? And where would they have hidden out for the first couple years of Smalls exile? (If I didn't completely mess this up and got confused. 🤷♀️)
I got the idea from Ian. I emailed him about 2 weeks ago, and he just responded. I am still in shock! I could invite you, but then you would have to give me your email.
That's true, we were just reading the Author's Note (I think it was called that) at the end of Ember's End and he called Tolkien his master! So I guess he's Masterchild now?? Sorry lol I loved that though.
Lets start it back up why don’t we. I think it’s Artham. He said he’s a busy man, like Smith. Or Derrick. Who knows. I doubt it’s anyone on this page. Maybe the on the Wiki though. I think that debate had like 120 comments.
@Ian G. probably a good idea. I feel like one of the threads where this subject came up previously has disappeared. I remember making some comment about nobody suspecting me before, but now I can’t find it anywhere.
He’s certainly aware of the site, but we’ve never been sure of the level of his viewing or participation. We actually had a thread a while back discussing which of us we thought might be S.D. Smith incognito...feel like it either was the most active thread the site’s had, or came out around the same time.
Mr Smith:I understand that you removed references to other friendly species (squirrels, birds, etc.) after earlier editions of Book 1 in order to focus the series on rabbits and their enemies. What in particular prompted this decision?
If I'm not mistaken, you said in an interview something to the effect of, "inspiration needs to be hunted down with a club." What exactly did you mean by that, and how do you put that into practice? Thanks, and God bless!
i would ask: is there any way for helmer to truly be alive?
I would ask no doubt who the pilgrim is!!!!
@KatherineFrom what we know, nine brothers and at least three sisters including Emma.
Follow up to @The Fowlers’ question: how did Perk become on of Bleston’s agents?
Dear Mr. Smith,

But he could be your brother if he’s not....
@Artham, when is the deadline for these questions?

I have a meeting with S.D. Smith next Tuesday!
First off, I LOVE your books Mr Smith. And how many siblings does Smalls have? Are you going to write any books set in King Jupiter's reign?
Dear. Mr. Smith,
Since True Blue makes the Mended Wood heaven-like since it grants immortality, then why is there no resurrection?
Also, why did you chose not have a God figure?
Mr. Smith: How have places you have lived in or been to influenced the locations in your books?
Lol. I’m not...
I know he likes C.S. Lewis and Tolkien.
My sister asks Mr. Smith, What is your favorite author or authors?

Does he ever come onto this page and check out the discussions going and, and if he does which one did he find particularly interesting.
Mr. Smith,
What happened to Hadley, Jab, and the Commandant? We would really like to know, thank you.
Mr. Smith,
If you do not intend to continue writing in the Green Ember universe, do you have any other series planned?
Mr Smith: I understand that you removed references to other friendly species (squirrels, birds, etc.) after earlier editions of Book 1 in order to focus the series on rabbits and their enemies. What in particular prompted this decision?
Dear Mr. Smith,
