We think this is where this should go as it has to do with The Wreck and Rise, so here goes nothing.
In a recent rereading of The Wreck and Rise, we discovered something interesting. Galt mentions a vision he has had to both Prince Lander and King Whiston. He says he had a vision of a peaceful society built on equality. (Found in chapter 12 of The Wreck and Rise)
Does that sound familiar to anyone else?
To us it sounds an awful lot like Terralian. We believe that Galt might be the founder of Terralain. Because he also states that he was going to find and form the aforesaid peaceful society. (Also found in chapter 12)
If Galt’s vision and Terralain are the same thing it would make a lot of sense.
1.) Because in EF Picket mentions that the Terralains are the biggest rabbits he’s ever seen. In Galt’s vision there were wild rabbits, which could very well be a taller breed of rabbit, which then led to the tall Terralains. The theory that the wild rabbits are bigger than Picket, Heather, and all the others is not impossible. Because most of the time rabbits are classified in three size categories. Dwarf 2-6 pounds, medium 7-12 pounds, and giants 13 pounds and up.
We would put Picket, Heather, and the rest in the medium category, which leaves the taint category open for the Terralians.
2.) It also says in EF that Bleston found Terralain. Not founded, but found. Which means he discovered something that already existed. Which could mean that Bleston found the peaceful society Galt had founded years before and added his own ideas to it. (Because the equality seems to have disappeared.)
3.)Galt said the place in his vision lay to the Southwest. Which if we remember right is the general direction in which Terralian is said to lie.
So in light of all this evidence could Galt be the founding father of Terralian?
Lets us know what you think. But please remember we haven’t read EE yet.
May your feet find the next standing stone!😀🙈
Welp, the theory has been confirmed. And S.D. Smith stated in the Q&A that he may do something with Terralain someday...
This is very interesting and well thought through. I think it's very likely. Which chapter did Galt say this in? I don't remember.
(I will answer as I would have before reading EE:) I agree with these theories! All of the evidence lines up. I wonder if we'll ever learn more about the rabbits "native" to Natalia (who presumably built Seven Mounds and Cloud Mountain). So far, we know very little about them aside from what you mentioned.
