So we know that Ember's End will be the final installment in the main Green Ember series. I would guess that we might get at least one more Tale of Old Natalia-gotta find out how the rabbits beat those dragons, after all-and it wouldn't surprise me to get another adventure of Jo Shanks. However, assuming that the world of the Green Ember won't be confined to these three series, there are more tales to be told of rabbitkind. The question is, what expansions might we expect to see?
In my mind, there are three possibilities. The first would be a series focusing on Flint and Fay, from their origins on Immovable Mountain to their time in Blue Moss Hills. Second, there's the saga of Golden Coast, including the as yet mysterious heroism of Seddle and the last stand of King Gerrard's old bucks. Last, but certainly not least, is another potential epic: The Rise and Fall of King Jupiter the Great.
A King Jupiter series interests me, if anything, more than the Blue Moss Hills or Golden Coast ideas. It would give us a chance not only to learn more of the storied reign of Jupiter Goodson, but also of various characters who appear prominently in The Green Ember and its sequels. What stories might be waiting to be told of the Longtreader brothers, of Morbin Blackhawk and the Six, of Helmer the Black and the heroes of the Great Alliance, and of traitors like Bleston? True, we know how such a tale must sadly end-but we also know of the future glory that awaits.
Well, those are my thoughts; what are yours?
Well there goes Helmer and his stories😪
As long as Good Ol' Master Smith doesn't throw away all the main characters in the main series...
I'm cool with anything he does
LOL. That would be hilarious.
I want to see the Green Ember generation’s kids!! Smalls and Heather would have AMAZING children, and Picket with whoever is guaranteed to have sweet, caring, brave, loyal kids. I want a mini sequel series on the future Jovesons and Longtreaders, and I want to see Helmer being Picket’s kids’ awesome warrior grandpa that they all look up to as a hero (and he secretly loves it). Pleeease, S.D.??
Well, I totally think he should make more non-main books. I would love books about King Jupiter or Prince Lander. Or maybe book on Heather and Picket's life in Nick Hollow
