@Luvgreenember, @Ian G., @Kilmarnock, So, I found some of my fanart being shared and promoted by someone on a different site and under their name, not mine... what could be done, or should i just take down my art? Sorry, this is all out of the blue and i honestly dont know what to do

Hey @Bearer of the Flame ,

I tried finding where the person was reposting your art (I searched Google by the image and then looked up the user on DeviantArt), but I couldn't find anything. Are you still able to find it, however you did before?

If it is still there, I'm not entirely sure what the best course of action would be. But I don't think you need to take down your art from NS, unless you really don't want anyone copying anything else. It's obviously your work. And there may be a way that we can prevent people from downloading images off of NS, so we're looking into that.

And remember, plagiarism is the sincerest form of flattery... (or something like that)

@Ian G. Okay... thanks so much! I had found it when I typed into google 'new seddleton' and just scrolled down... I've also been told about doing a watermark or a copyright thing, so I'll probably look into that

@Bearer of the Flame So I was able to find the image when I searched for it in that way, but I'm a little weirded out by the link; it doesn't actually go to DeviantArt, and I'm not sure I want to follow it (plus the image quality is terrible). It just seems suspicious.

I just double-checked the user on DA and looked through their whole gallery, and it wasn't there, nor was anything else GE-related. So I'm not quite sure what's going on, but I don't think it's a very big problem at this point. We'll see about what we can do to prevent stuff like this, though.

Which site is it? Would you be able to send me a link of that site and the original? Also, did you sign your name? I think if you sign your name, it's legally your artwork (But I don't know if that works for Canada too). I'll look at it and then talk to the rest of the CL about what to do.
