I nodded to a passing votary, dodging out of the caves. The work of a field medic was never done, even in times of peace.
“Alright.” I said, crossly, staring at the crowd. “I’m comin’ through!”
No one budged. It really annoyed me.
“I said, coming through!” I yelled.
This time, people budged. A lot of them. All running away from me. I raced in. A small youngling had gotten entangled in one of Helmer’s contraptions. Helmer looked like he felt really bad. And Fleck Cove wasn’t helping. At all.
“Please move, Fleck.” I said. Fleck turned, saw it was me, and smiled. “Hi Rex. We need all your help right now.”
Fleck might be a little too responsible for his age, but he was one of the few rabbits that respected me.
“What happened?” I asked, untangling the little youngling. He raced away, unscathed, and I turned to Fleck and Helmer. They were arguing. Of course. But now it was about who was an oathbreaker.
I sighed, no use. Fleck was rubbing his right shoulder. Poor Fleck. Always getting injured.
“Fleck, are you alright?” I asked him.
“Yeah I’m fine. Just twisted my shoulder a bit, that’s all.” He said.
I tried to smile, Fleck needed all the encouragement he could get. He had a very important message to take to Decker’s Landing.
I sighed, walking away. Going through the crowd was hard, as I was considered an outcast.
“What’s wrong with me?” I asked, slipping into hallway round, scampering through a nearby door, and sitting down in the King’s Garden.
so, i'm thinking y'all can guess that this is in the universe of my main fan-fic? it is. i needed to start this one for the next few chapters of #Theseedofthenewworld to make sense!
-Fleck Cove.
I love it! Just wondering, could you post the order of the Fleck stories? I would like to read them in order.
