Into the Hollow

Chapter 3

"Hello, brother," Garten said from the doorway. Whittle rubbed his eyes.

“Hello brother,” the grey buck in the doorway said. “Whittle, are you okay?”

“Wilfred!” Whittle exclaimed, excited to see that it was not Garten.

“Whittle, Garten is coming. I saw his armies coming this way and I came to warn you. Get Heather and Picket away from here. I am running North. You can come too if you would like,” Wilfred said.

“No, you go North, I will stay here. I will get Sween to take the children South, that way they can not find us.”

“I can take the children with me if you need.”

“No, you go, I will wait for Garten.”

“Have a weapon ready.”

“I will, goodbye brother.”

Wilfred walked away and started North away from the elm and the children.

“Sween! Take the children South. Garten is coming.”

Sween grabbed the children and started running South.

A Few Days Later

Whittle heard a knock at the door.

He walked over to the doorway and opened it. He had his sword ready to take on his brother.

“Hello brother. I am here to see your children.” Garten said from the doorway. “Men, raid the house.” The wolves ran into the house and drew their swords. Garten pushed past his brother and sat down. “It’s a nice home you have here,” he said. “It’s a shame I’ll have to burn it.”
