don't be mad at me please? this story takes place thirty minutes after chapter two....
Hanna ran toward the scant traces of sunlight at the end of the tunnel. Was Hews right? Would she never be a soldier?
She pushed past gatekeepers and outside. Mist settled around the forest as Hanna ran into the woods. She tripped as her cape caught on a tree branch. She fell into the cold, hard mud. Standing, Hanna ran on. She cut into a clearing and clashed into another rabbit. The stranger was injured.
He lay on the ground, scrambling to his feet. He had a bandaged arm and a bandaged foot. A soldier. She realized. Another rabbit, a doe, came sprinting into the clearing.
"Are you alright, Fleck?" She asked, bending to help him up.
"I don't need your help." Fleck spat, trying to scramble up. Hanna walked over to him and extended her hand. He took it and stood.
"Right, Blackstar. let the stranger help you." The doe said.
"My name's not Blackstar." Fleck said, punching the doe in the arm.
Hanna felt a strange presence behind her. She shook the feeling, but it wouldn't leave. Then, a screeching voice:
"Ah, yes. Little brave messenger." the voice cackled. Fleck struggled to draw his sword, but his right arm didn't seem to be working right. Hanna drew her sword and stood next to Fleck. Fleck's sword was out.
