I suppose I'll throw in a few here. I'd like to do these myself, but I don't know if I'll ever get around to it.
An AU in which Helmer does not die in the final battle, but finds himself separated from Picket and stuck on one of the Standing Stones in the flooded city as Morbin leads the final wave of attack. As if that weren't enough, the bodies of Smalls and Heather, who were not saved by the timely arrival of the Akolan fleet, wash up, and he now finds himself in possession of the starsword.
Upon his death at Cloud Mountain, Lord Rake's spirit rises to witness the aftermath of his last fight. Turns out he's not the only ghost present.
What if one Blackstar went bad? And what if their treachery enabled a tragedy that would haunt their kin for years to come?
When King Jupiter fell, or close to it, so did six of the seven Lord Captains. What did they witness, and what foes did they face, in their final hour? Spoiler alert: the answer is five of the Six and a couple of nasty wolf leaders.
In the peace of the Mending, Whitbie Joveson has found love and contentment. But his own peace is marred by fear. For what loving father can bear the thought that his own child might be terrified by his cruelly scarred face?
Having been captured and forced to witness the fall of his king, Wilfred is rescued from his place of confinement by Helmer. To say that neither of them are thrilled by the situation would be a gross understatement.
Though the Mending has come, Picket is still haunted by Helmer's death. One night, he is awakened from a troubled sleep. Fortunately, he doesn't have to bear his sorrow alone. Weezie is there to comfort him, either personally or (if you prefer) through one or more of their children.
-Jupiter and Wilfred's relationship. They had to have been close-Jupiter entrusted the care of his heir to Wilfred.
-Helmer and Airen. I have a very different story for them than what is particularly implied in the books. (Btw, they end up getting adopted, not born, into the family that they end up inheriting the farm from. And it's a rough ride to get there)
-An exploration of the 'Flint and Faye' story. Lots and lots of angst, go figure.
-An alternate AU where Whittel remained in the capital and worked for his brother. Lots of shennanigans.
-Smalls and Evan's (his older brother by one year, one of my OCs) story from the First Warren. Hint, it goes badly.
-An exploration of the Nick Hollow area, which is a lot more contested and controversial than hinted at in the books.
-Sween's story, which is a lot sadder than is shown.
-The story of Ian and Lucy. Ian is the middle brother between Jupiter and Bleston, and Lucy is the youngest sister of the Longtreader brother trifecta. Basically, nothing goes right for them and their kids suffer terribly. (Edward ended up babysitting a young Smalls and Evan-geez, what a nightmare)
-The story of Edward, Ian and Lucy's one surviving child.
-What King Walter was really like-and the proof that no sinful king can ever be perfect.
-My headcanon that Glen and Perkin are twins. And the chaos this causes. (Geez, Smalls' cousins really hate him, don't they?)
-Snoden being a Drekker. This is hilarious to me.
-Jone being a Drekker. Just seems to fit her.
-How Bleston took over Terralain.
Wow. That was really long. If anyone wants me to elaborate or expand on any of these, I would be more than happy to :)
Please, if you have an idea share it here!More of mine:Harmony and Melody’s relationshipKyle’s backstory (how and why exactly did he get sent to Cloud Mountain?)What Helmer got up to as a teenager, because we all know it must have been crazy and hilarious
I’ll start:What if Doctor Zeiger met the deadpan doctor from Akolan and began working with him? What if Heyward fell in love with Gloria Folds? How would he attempt to court her?(I admit, both of these are inspired by the latest chapter of Moments of the Mending)Heyna’s backstory from her point of viewThe Adventures of the Last Lord Captain, told as tall-tale Picket Packslayer style stories kids would tell each other in the Mending.
