Okay here’s chapter 7!
Alan couldn’t believe it; the gate was locked. The gate was never locked, but it was. Why, why would they lock the gate? Fear rose up inside Alan, they were trapped. They were all going to die, just like that buck, the buck who had told him to give the necklace to Zeke. Who was Zeke anyway? He might be dead too. So many had died for this, this was stupid. Why had they done this? He just wanted to be somewhere where there was no more pain. He wanted somewhere where no one would hurt him, but that was only a stupid dream, you couldn’t get away from pain. His father had hurt him in more ways than one, but right now his father would be better than the pain in his leg. It was like nothing he had ever felt before, it hurt so bad that he had to clinch his teeth to keep from screaming.
He then heard David say, “No, no, no, this can’t be right the gate is never closed.”
“Ky is there any way you can pick the lock?” the grey doe asked. She was beautiful.
The white buck, Ky was silent for a moment then he said, “Maybe, I could try, but there’s not much time.”
“Just do it Ky we have nothing to lose right now,” David said. Ky nodded and pulled a small metal rod from his pocket and started picking the lock.
Maybe they would make it, but the Black Band was drawing closer and closer by the moment. David looked back nervous, “Hurry Ky!” David said looking back again.
“I know, I’m trying, I can’t do it under pressure,” Ky said, his voice tense.
“Well you’re going to have too,” David said, his voice holding a nervous authority.
“I’m trying…” Ky started to say but then they heard a click. Ky smiled as he put the metal rod in his pocket. “I did it!” Ky said sounding impressed, “I actually did it.” He then started to remove the chains from the gate. Then he opened it and yelled, “Go, go, go!”
The other bucks ran out of the gate, David and Ky followed. Once outside the gate they didn’t stop, they kept running. At least everyone but Alan did, David carried Alan, but Alan didn’t care his leg hurt too much to even think about running on it.
They ran until they could run no more and then they stopped in a small clearing to catch their breath. David started to put Alan down but then they all froze as they heard a voice yell out, “Okay, that’s far enough bucks, hands where I can see them.”
Hope you guys liked it!
