So maybe I just missed it, but who is the Pilgrim? It seems that in the end of Ember's End people know who he is, but we never find out. He is EXTREMELY old.
Who knows, maybe it's Flint!!!Blackstare!!!Reepicheep!!!...ok scratch that last one.
it has got to be masssie, for four reasons. One, hes an old, very experienced archer, and so IS massie. Two, he says helmer is reminds him of an old freind, who is likely brindle "helmer" cove, who is helmers ancester and namesake. three, the pilgrim would have to have started his journey many many many years ago to have traveled back across the sea to golden coast, then make the very long trek back to blue moss hills, THEN back across the standing stones to imovable mountail, where he colected rocks from the fallen star to make his arrows. four, i can barely think of any other person from the prequals that served the king loyaly, was an archer, and isnt gavin cuz gavin is a white rabbit.
I don't think it would have been necessary, if it was even possible, for Massie to make his way to Immovable Mountain. The implication seems to be that Flint received or made the starsword after arriving in the Blue Moss Hills.
