So I was talking with @Fleck Cove in the comments of a post, and Helmer's death came up. I just want to know what people think of him dying, personally I was MAD he died, all of my friends kept going on about how stupid it was to kill him off and we would just rant about it to eachother LOL 🤣 anyone else feel that way?

I love Helmer as much as anybody, but I think his death was fitting. Considering how many major characters DIDN'T die in Ember's End, we're pretty fortunate.
I've contemplated a Helmer afterlife scenario or two myself, though I haven't written fanfiction in years.
I wasn’t really mad he died. I feel that it was inevitable for the plot of the main story. Wouldn’t have felt complete with out it, because then whenever Picket trained Lallo, (I think that’s he’s name, visions a little blurry at 1 am) Picket would still be under Helmer, making it less nostalgic and less satisfying. Just me though.
Yes! Helmet's death was the worst😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 it was the one time (except for Smalls and at the end of WFS) that i actually cried over a fictional character's death and yeah, Helmer's death is one I will never recover from. Ever.😭😭😭😭😭😭
#Helmerpact
Yeah so Bastille and I had several theories there are blast arrows??? And fire arrows?????????????????? Ack 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I have to finish my year old Helmer returns haha.... K it's older that a year mebe two?
YES!!!!! My whole homeschool group has talked about this, and we agree that he could have just y'know, THROWN THE TORCH AND RUN!!!!
I was CRUSHED when Helmer perished right before my eyes! I still hold out hope that one day he will appear at the gate to Picket's home in New Seddleton: H- Hi Ladybug. Anything new or exciting happen? Or, how about Picket gazing at the grand artwork in honor of his mentor, a tear in his eye, when he hears, "Ladybug..." Seriously, I think SD Smith could have a field day with The Return of Helmer.
