The girl walked into the fellowship hall after the long and well read sermon, they had celebrated the pastor 19th anniversary for leading the church, Joy laughed in her heart but Hunger snarled in her belly as she reached the line and smiled, two visitors were in line next to her and her good friend, they were about her age. The boy smiled in greeting and walked over his sister followed closely.
After a few minutes of meet and greet they began to talk books, soon they were speaking of one of her favorites:The Green Ember.
"So." The boy said running a hand through his black, well-kept hair. "Have you noticed yet?"
"What?" the curly headed girl said, pushing her glasses back up her nose and looked behind her for her friend, she was busy speaking with some of the youth from their church. The boy's sister was standing next to her brother intently listening.
"The Green Ember!" He said. "It's Properties and what and how it affects others have you noticed?" The curly-haired girl pushed back an untamed frizz back and bit her lip. She didn't follow. "Not in the slightest." She said.
The boy grinned slightly, this was going to be a long theory.

The Green Ember, if you think about it. Think of all who have held the green flame, they came close to death but didn't die. In the first book smalls held and ALMOST died, but Picket saved him. Bk 3 Heather held it and more than once was saved. So, what if Aunt Jone's tonic isn't the answer, but the stone is? This magical rock has to be the answer, every book from the main series is named after it! Is this what happened? Is that why Morbin wants it so bad?

I am sure it is not 'magic' but the rabbits will probably look at it that way. But anyone holding the Ember at the time never actually die though.
