Ok so, didn’t Wilfred and Helmer make a bet? But don’t recall what the bet was though. Can someone please help? Also welcome @Saraina Whitney hope you have a great time on this site!
The exact text in question, from p. 171 of Ember’s End:
”He been a trial, for certain,” Helmer said, smirking over at Picket. “But I’m sure you can find some way to repay me.”
”Well, I still owe you for that bet we made,” Uncle Wilfred said.
”What bet?” Picket asked.
”Back at Cloud Mountain,” Wilfred began, grinning, but Helmer cut him off.
”It’s none of your business, Ladybug,” Helmer said. “Just a friendly wager between two old veterans.”
No details as to what they were betting on or what the stakes were. Another case of S.D. Smith teasing us with details.
@Kaleb we don‘t think it ever said what the bet was about, but we believe it was implied that it was about Picket.
Hope that answers your question.
Me to bro.
Um, that sounds familiar, but I can't remember what it was at the moment. I really need to reread EE...
I have no answer. But I will think! Yes welcome @Saraina Whitney
