It's all about perspective really, if you look at it from the perspective of the "bad guys" you could see that they might not be so bad after all. For example, if Infinity War was 100% from Thanos' perspective you would think the avengers bad and see his intentions are good, it's just that usually the "good guys" who don't look into the reasoning and just want to jump right into battle, same goes for Star Wars. This is why I think Smalls is the worst villain in the history of the land of the green ember.
