So, I plan to elaborate more on this later, but here is what I have so far. WAIT, first, a joke: (slight gore warning for the sensitive folks out there)
Morbin: "mom, why did you name me Morbin? isn't that kind of close to... Morbid?"
mother: “Oh, simple. you’re a bird that kills cute bunnies and rips their flesh off, eating them alive.”
Morbin: “but…but you do that too. Not to mention the hundreds of other animals that eat each other.”
“ah…yes…but you’re going to be the main antagonist in a books series, so you have to have a tragic name.”
“Oh, okay.”
Morbin may have actually changed his name from something like Tommy to Morbin…lol. since we actually don’t know what the bird culture is like in this series, it could be anything from they don’t name their children, but let their children name themselves, to extremely weird carnivore parents that think that names like, Gore, Dead, and Morbin are popular pretty names. In real life, different species of raptors reach maturity at different ages. for instance, the Bald Eagle reaches maturity at four to five years of age, and its famous white head does not began to actually have white feathers until they are five to six years old. Redtail hawks reach maturity at two years of age, and interestingly, only 20 percent of them survive their first year of life. this is due to many things, disease, parasites, pesticides and even structures such as buildings that have large windows, also cars, etc. 365 days in a year. So 730 days from birth until a Redtail hawk is mature. A Redtail hawk is 2 to 3 months old when it leaves its parents and 42 days old when it fledges. how the raptor world works in the Green Ember, is yet to be seen. I'll be posting more about this later! See ya.
Well, without going into details just yet, Ember’s End gave us some more info in this area.
